The easiest way to destroy a mother is to make her children doubt her. Rose Winters was never supposed to become someone else’s wife. In Jacob’s mind, she has always belonged to him. When tragedy enters Rose’s life, Jacob does not mourn what she lost. He studies what it makes available. He becomes patient. Helpful. Harmless enough to trust. Necessary enough to reach what Rose protects most.

Her children are not obstacles. They are access points. They are the part of Rose that can be reached without ever touching her. So Jacob learns their fears, their habits, their weaknesses, and the small places where a child’s trust can be redirected.

A child can be guided. A fear can be planted. A memory can be bent until it points somewhere else. The right words, said at the right time, can make protection feel like danger and manipulation feel like safety. Jacob does not believe he is manipulating Rose’s family. He believes he is revealing where they truly belong.

Some monsters take children from their mothers. Jacob teaches them to walk away.

As devious plans unfold, we are helpless to intervene

Jacob is a twisted f*ck who has an unhealthy obsession with a woman he went to school with ages ago. He plots and schemes to make her his, and only his, no matter if she has a husband, or kids. There are no limits to his cruel and manipulative behaviors. He's not afraid of the police, his parents, or any consequences to his actions. He has hallucinations and delusions. And you get to listen to every sordid detail of his lustful and selfish desires, his absolute denial of wrongdoing, and the calculating traps he sets to get what he wants.
