Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S. E. Smith presents another adventure filled with action, suspense, and a love worth fighting for.

Indiana Wild is as wild as the Montana ranch she was raised on. The youngest of four children, she was a delightful surprise for her older parents. She spends her time training horses and cow dogs and loving the freedom of the wide-open spaces. But when her grandfather dies, she discovers that her older brothers have different plans for the ranch she calls home - and for Indiana herself.

Indiana's oldest brother is determined to tame her and bring her to live with him in Los Angeles, where he can keep an eye on her and the money she is inheriting. He believes that with a little taming, he can control his little sister's wild spirit and find her a husband who can manage her. Furious with the court order giving her older brother guardianship over her, Indiana turns to the only place she feels at home: the wide-open spaces of Montana. She is determined to avoid her controlling brothers and their greed, even if it means hiding from them until they give up. An unexpected trip through Spirit Pass takes Indiana further than she ever expected - by almost 150 years.

Jonathan Tucker is as tough as they come. He and his twin brother have cut a successful horse and cattle ranch in the harsh Montana territory. When cattle rustlers try to steal his cattle and shoot one of his men, he is grateful to the young boy named Indy who comes to the rescue, even if the boy does have an attitude. The last thing he expects is to find that the "boy" is in fact an independent, freethinking, stubborn female who's not afraid to voice her opinion. She is as wild as the untamed land around them, and he is determined to make her his wife.

When Indiana is taken from him, Jonathan will do whatever it takes to bring his Indiana Wild home for good, even if it means following her into the future.

4 Indiana Wild Stars

Ok so I don’t know if this was in the blub or what not, but I always go in blind it is just how I like to read.

Well I was wondering if this was the right book. You see I picked it because of the Frontier category for a challenge I am doing and I was mighty confused then I got it, time travel! Yeah that was funny. I was all what is going on this isn't what I think then poof it made sense. ;)

So once I figured that out everything started to click into place.
I freaking LOVED Indiana she is a feisty one and she doesn’t back down from something she believes in. Strong willed is what I call it and I think that is what draws Jonathan to her. I like that he “tries” to get her to do things.. hahahah Yeah that ain’t happening. She is a smart one. Totally throws that back in his face.. hehe he has no choice but to see her for who she is and go with the flow.

And that is one of the very first things I loved about Jonathan he sees Indiana as someone different and he is willing to accept her. Made my heart melt when he really saw her.

Her brothers are evil! I can’t even when I was at the part with her brothers I was like this happens in 2013 still people thinking they can make people do what they want and who cares what you want.

I am intrigued at some of the secondary characters I might even keep up with the series. It wasn’t like normal Frontier books I have ever read before and I think that is what made it so interesting.

And Samantha Cook does a great job at bringing all of these characters to life. She was seamless.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Time Travel Romance

Indiana Wild runs from her manipulating brothers who who sold out her grandfather's farm from under her; and are planning to sell her to the highest bidder. She packs her 2 horses and, with her cattle dogs, treks into the mountains and rides thru Spirit Pass from 2013 into 1867. Her greedy, desperate brother sends men to kidnap her back; forcing Jonathan & Jacob into the future after her.

Cook's voice fits the narration for this story.

Physically forcing women into marriage?

How is a forced marriage romantic? After only one kiss the hero is supposedly in love enough to tie up the heroine's feet and hands until she's married to him - which apparently makes her fall in love with him? Really?! The rest of the story is well written and an interesting listen, but I can't get over the total acceptance for how the happy couple comes together.

Great performance by narrator

What other book might you compare Indiana Wild to and why?

There are other time travel books and this book compares well to many of them. It has an interesting story line and uses a good concept for explaining time travel. Indie is a modern woman who can take care of herself. Modern woman meets old west man who thinks he will save the little woman. There are a lot of laughs.

Have you listened to any of Samantha Cook’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first one that I have heard of Ms. Cook's performances. I truly enjoyed her performance and the way she used different voices for all the characters. She did an excellent job and I would listen to more of her performances.

Any additional comments?

There are vivid sex scenes in the book but it does not dominate the story. There are plenty of laughs. It is easy to love the good characters and it is easy to boo the bad ones. I enjoyed listening to the book.

Good until the trick!

Where to begin. I always suspend belief when reading romance time travel, space and shifter stories so physically possible is not a consideration for me.

This was a solid 4 or possibly 5 star read for me until the tie up and trick into marriage portion of the story. A little while later in the story, the brother does something similar and it is frowned upon.

The h throwing hissy fits also got a bit old but a portion of it was necessary for the storyline.

Loved this Story Line

I think this is mostly one of my favorite stories. There are a few hiccups in the plot that bothered me (probably just my perception) but still a favorite. I love how Indiana is a strong and independent woman, but I didn't like how quickly she just caved in and forgave him after a forced marriage. That was so out of character. I wanted a chapter or two of buttin heads until he apologized and gave her a heartfelt reason to forgive him. It just seemed so rushed and out of character for Indy. I was rolling my eyes and almost screaming at my iPhone for her to stop being so passive and get back to the tough heroine I loved. Other than that, the book was amazing. I didn't care for the narrator at all. After listening to 200+ books Samantha felt more like someone reading a book vs a narrator like Hollie Jackson who was acting out the part. Also, Samantha's voice when doing the male voices made me wince. It might be a personal preference but I just couldn't get over it. My favorite female narrators other than Hollie are Davina Porter, Molly Glenmore, Tatiana Sokolov so maybe it's just something about them being more an actress than a reader I like?

And Another one!!!!

I loved loved loved this book, honest S.E. Smith hit it out the park again. I honestly loved all the characters and how they connected with each other. Indiana she is someone who I wish was real because we could really be friends. Her character had be laughing and giggling from start to finish. She is a pure rebel and bad-ass, if you give this book a try you will see why lol. I loved every twist and turn this book made it was perfect. The narration was amazing like seriously I sat through the whole book in one shot i could not put it down or pause it. I cant wait to listen to the next one. I can honestly say S.E. Smith writing has become my go to for great stories. Forever a fan!

Magical

This is a fantastical story of time travel, hunky hot cowboys and feisty sassy modern women. Indiana and Jonathan story is out of this world, it is funny, sexy and a bit of suspense thrown in to make a delicious read. (Sighs)
