Publisher's summary

Some things are better left forgotten . . .

When a woman wakes up with amnesia beside a mountain highway, confused and alone, she fights to regain her identity, only to learn that her parents have disappeared—not long after her mother bought a winning $47 million lottery ticket.

As her memories painfully resurface and the police uncover details of her parents’ mysterious disappearance, Cleo Li finds herself under increasing suspicion. Even with the unwavering support of her brother, she can’t quite reconcile her fears with reality or keep the harrowing nightmares at bay. As Cleo delves deeper for the truth, she cannot escape the nagging sense that maybe the person she should be afraid of...is herself.

With jolting revelations and taut ambiguity, In the Dark We Forget vividly examines the complexities of family—and the lies we tell ourselves in order to survive.

Phenomenal.

Sandra SG Wong crafted an incredible story, and Dana Wing Lau brought it to life remarkably. I was spellbound with each chapter. The author gives voice to complexities in stunning ways while honoring the human many responses to trauma and pain. The plot kept my on the edge of my seat through the end, and I simply couldn’t stop listening.

Gripping psychological thriller you won’t want to press up!

📖My thoughts📖
Wow! What a twisted tale! The fact that the main character wakes up first thing at the start of the book suffering from amnesia makes the storyline that much more clenching! It only adds to the mystery of it all. I love that this book had me guessing right up until the very end, holding my attention the entire time. This is a must read! I tore through this one feeling as though I couldn’t read fast enough! If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers, go snap yourself a copy of this gem! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Lackluster thriller/mystery

This book honestly dragged and dragged and the end was so lackluster. The characters were annoying. It started off so mysterious & then...it gave nothing. I'm so disappointed. Nothing about this was a thriller. Just a waste of my time. I'm surprised I powered through it but I HAD to know what happened. Welp I guess I'll never know.
