Publisher's summary

Andie Carson has to do three things to inherit her grandmother’s lottery winnings - sober up, spend a month running her grandmother’s Georgia coffee shop, and enter homemade jam in the county fair. If she can’t meet those terms, the money goes to the church, and Andie gets nothing. She figures her tasks will be easy enough, and once she completes them, Andie plans to sell the shop, take the money, and run back to Boston.

After a rough breakup from his crazy ex-fiancée, Officer Gunnar Wills decides to take a hiatus from women. All he wants is to help make his small town thrive the way it did when he was a kid. But when wild and beautiful Andie shows up, Gunnar’s hesitant heart begins to flutter.

Gunnar knows that Andie plans to leave, but he’s hoping to change her mind, fearful that if her coffee shop closes, Main Street will fold to the big-box corporations and forever change the landscape of his quaint community. But convincing her to stay means getting close enough to risk his heart in the process. Even though Gunnar makes small-town life seem a little sweeter, Andie has to decide if she’s ready to turn her world upside down and give up big-city life. One thing’s for sure - it’s a very sticky situation.

FUNNY & WITTY!

I really enjoyed it! This book was funny, witty, romantic and just plain delightful. The narration was great. It will keep you entertained. This author does a great job with the characters and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I look forward to reading more of her books. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Could have been 2 hours shorter —

It really dragged through the hormone laden chapters...

It was cute - predictable and palatable- quick and done

Cute southern tale with a few issues...

In a Jam by Cindy Dorminy was a mixed bag for me. The story itself was a cute one, though I didn't exactly LOVE the fact that the main character Andie is basically an alcoholic. I totally get that alcoholism is real, etc. but to hear about how the main character is one in a cutesy southern romance tale is a new one for me. Andie kept making references to wanting to drink throughout the story and it just didn't seem to fit with THIS particular story, though I get that it's part of the storyline that Ms. Dorminy created. This story had a bit of a Sweet Home Alabama vibe to it, what with the good old South and busy bodies, etc. It was cute. It think it could have been an hour or two shorter, as it seemed to drag on a bit, but that's just my opinion! Overall, it wasn't a bad listen.

Laura Roberts' narration of this title was overall pretty well done. Andie's voice was just fine and she narrated well, with good diction and cadence. My only complaint is Gunnar's voice. He sounded so monotone throughout the entire listen that he almost seemed dull, and it kept me from really getting into the story I think. If she livened up her male voices a bit, I would have no hesitation listen to more of her performances. As it was, I got used to his voice and it didn't keep me from listening to the story, but as I said, I think I would have been more connected to Gunnar's character if he would have sounded a bit more enthused. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Not for me

I wanted to love this, but I found it full of insta love and southern stereotypes. You can hear background noise on the audio which was distracting.
