Where does In Spite of the Odds rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In Spite of the Odds is a great book in so many ways. Richie overcomes obstacle after obstacle, showing his hard work ethic and positive attitude, while telling a heart felt story that has you wanting more.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Richie is my favorite character because of his 'must win' attitude. He just never stops!!!

What does Richie Contartesi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Richie brings a touch to the story that is only possible by him because you can feel his excitement as he recalls his journey.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

In addition, I want to say that if you have ever had any doubts in your life about accomplishing anything difficult then this is a must read. Richie shows by example what it means to truly pursue your dreams. It is a concept we hear and read a lot about, but Richie does it (and is still doing it), and that isn't something you find everyday. This book will make you reflect on your own efforts toward life and if you incorporate even the littlest bit of Richie's attitude and/or work ethic, you will find yourself succeeding that much more.

I guess if you are looking for a reality check l, this is one. It was almost defeating. We were really rooting for Richie. I listened to the story with my son because he’s about the same size which has been an issue, but basically what we thought would be. Encouraging ended up really kind of being the opposite. I mean, I guess good for him for being consistent but at some point it kind of becomes delusional..

it was a really good, inspirational listen. I just felt the final chapter was a bit watered down. I would have liked lessons learned at the end.

Truly inspiring

This was a really great and heartfelt novel. I loved hearing the author tell his own story using his own words. It makes the experience more relateable. During this book you laugh with Richie, you cry with Richie and ultimately you keep rooting for him to succeed. I'm inspired by his story and I'm inspired by his tenacity. If you are feeling a little down, and need a pep talk for life, take a listen. Even if your not like biggest football fan, like myself, you'll still feel pumped by Richie after listening to this . His never ending enthusiasm and his will to succeed are infectious and motivating to all.
