Publisher's summary

Carefree and strong-willed, Katherine Montgomery is the daughter of a successful Montana horse rancher. When a tragic accident claims her father's life, Katherine is left to deal with an overbearing mother whose agenda does not include a young daughter. Fate deals her another devastating blow, leaving her to face an uncertain future far away from everything and everyone she's loved.

Trace Hawley used to push the limits of the law, and no one was going to plan his future for him. The death of the man who always had his back leaves him to finally face responsibility. The promises he made a decade ago have shaped him into the man he is today, and will bring him face to face with the one girl from his past he always tried to avoid.

After a ten year absence, Katherine returns to the ranch she once loved to discover the shocking reason her mother summoned her home. Surprised to find Trace still at the ranch, her childhood infatuation grows into something far stronger as he challenges her to lead the life she once wanted, but seems to have forgotten. When Katherine is forced to make a choice between saving her father's dreams or following her own, Trace might be the only one who holds the key to both.

Content Warning: This audiobook contains mild language, mild violence, and adult situations including physical intimacy, and is intended for mature listeners.

Beautifully Written And Beautifully Narrated!

Would you listen to In His Eyes again? Why?

It definitely is one I will listen to again. I loved the book when I read it and now after listening to the audio book, it's one I will enjoy again. Of course knowing Cody Roberts would be narrating it, I knew I would enjoy it. I love listening to Cody's voice and I was so happy when I knew he was going to be the narrator for this audio book and the rest in the series. A swoon worthy voice!

Any additional comments?

After a ten year absence from her father's ranch after his death, Katherine, our sweet and lovely heroine has come home. But she is not the same outgoing girl Trace remembers, when they were young children growing up on her father's ranch. Trace, now the ranch foreman at Red Cliff, works hard to fulfill his dream of having a horse run in the Kentucky Derby some day. Keeping in mind the promise he has made to Katherine's father before he died, Trace makes a wonderful hero. Always ready with a teasing remark, it takes a little while before he sees what is in front of him and than you see the loving, supportive and protected side come out.
Lots of twists and turns with wonderful supportive characters and a few bad ones to keep you wondering how this is all going to end.
Beautifully written with loving sensitivity and narrated perfectly, although I wouldn't expect less from this author or narrator. Peggy L. Henderson is a wonderful author and Cody Roberts is a favorite narrator of mine and as usual, they pulled at my heartstrings with this one. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series, In His Touch! JudyE

Seeing Through the Heart

Would you listen to In His Eyes again? Why?

Yes! I love the story and Cody made it sound so real and made you feel like you were living it and hearing it in person.

What other book might you compare In His Eyes to and why?

In His Touch. The second book in this series that has the people from Through His Eyes in it. It tells the story of another character.

What does Cody Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Cody's voice is so easy to listen to and makes the story come to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

So many places in this story moved me. Hard to say them all without giving away spoilers. When you find out she is blind hits you in the heart for one reason.

Any additional comments?

I loved this story because it was so heartfelt and so true to life. The details and emotions were so intense that you felt so much apart of this story. Cody just added a reality and awareness to the story with his voice.

In His Eyes: Blemished Brides

I really enjoyed this story.

Mrs. Rodgers, although well meaning, couldn't see past Katherine's disability.
She didn't allow her to reach her full potential.

Every time Chantal, Katherine's mother, opened her mouth I could just imagine people looking to the sky to see if someone would drop a house on her. I was glad to see that the vile woman ended up in the prison that she spent her life building brick by brick by her own actions.

Trace saw Katherine as a person first and helped her find her inner strength. I was so happy to watch their relationship grow.

Not worth a credit.

I bought this on sale for $3.00 so I don't feel so bad about spending money on it. It has a warning for sex & violence but I've read worse in other novels.
It's a short story so the plot wasn't drawn out. It held my interest & I listened to it in one day.
I would recommend it if you're looking for a break from long novels. I enjoyed listening to the reader. He made the story good.

Peggy has done it again!

Would you listen to In His Eyes again? Why?

Yes, it was a great love story! Wonderfully written, made you feel like you were right there on the ranch!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Trace was my favorite because he believed in Katie and did not treat her differently. He encouraged her to live her life just as she had always thought she would. He did not hold her back or feel she was a burden. He made Katie live again!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole book was awesome and exciting but I really enjoyed the ending where Trace's prediction came true and "more"!

Any additional comments?

Peggy has a wonderful talent of making you a part of the story. You are never disappointed when you read her works, you just keep wanting more. Thank you Peggy and Cody for this amazing adventure with Trace and Katie. Can't wait to listen to In His Touch!

A good way to pass the time

The story was an easy listen. The story line was predictable, however well done.

Romance of the 50's ... maybe

Bad news - I did not care for this book. I felt it was too simple and contrived.
Good news - it was on sale.
Bad news - I won't get the 5 hours back.
Good news - it only lasted 5 hours.

Maybe the series will develop into something a little more than the first book. That happens, so I'm not writing it off entirely. I do like a well developed sweet story as much as the next person, and this began as an interesting story. In my opinion, the second half was a bit too formulaic and predictable.
