Excellent!!

This is the last book of this series and I was pleased with how it ended. This is basically Julian's story and the what he goes through. The ending was sort of what I expected but not completely. The only way this series could be better is if the author came out with a prequel telling us the Warlock's story! Outside of that, it was an excellent ending for Julian and Kim's story and continued to keep me in suspense to the end. If you love suspenseful but not overly dramatic or gory stories then you have to check this one out! There's some cussing throughout the series but not in abundance. The author gives the right amount of details of situations but nothing gory or disgusting or offensive. He really lets your own mind do it all. I have say, Ambrose Ibsen is a name I look for now. He's a great author and I truly think you should give his work a chance. The narration by Joe Hempel is excellently done. He really helps to bring the creepy factor to full light. His voice is clear and clean. He reads at a nice pace, easy to keep up with.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A bit of a let down!

I was really bummed out with the story. Ambrose Ibsen is one of my favorite paranormal/horror authors but this series of novellas, but more so this last book, fell flat for me. Julian bugged me this entire series. Then for this book he just walks around aimlessly. The "monster" wasn't what I come to expect from this author. I'm hoping get more creeptastic stories from Ibsen. I genuinely enjoy most of his books/series... just not this set! I feel like this series was pushed out to just sell... 4 books all being around 2 or so hours? It just didn't work for me. I know how I'm sounding here... whiny little brat... but it bothers me a bit. I want a good strong story more than I want a bunch of short ok ones.

Anyway, Joe Hempel is nothing short of amazing! He's what I expect from every book. He has a nice steady voice that's strong. He's easy to hear and understand! I'll keep listening to him!
