Publisher's summary

Romance is in the air!

Elaine is still far from home, far from Remus. Her friends and family don't even know if she's alive.

However, not all is lost. Elaine has fallen in with some elves, who are willing to let her tag along while they head in the general direction of her home. They're off hunting shimagu, deadly bodyjackers that steal away all autonomy.

Elaine finds a small measure of comfort in Serondes's arms, experimenting with her first relationship. Experimenting with granting others Immortality.

As Elaine travels with the elves, she needs to wrestle with numerous questions: Is the relationship with Serondes going anywhere? What's in the egg that she's keeping safe and warm? Can the elves be trusted? What happened with the civil war in Remus? And should the shimagu be treated like people, or like parasites?

good but definitely the weakest so far

I follow the story online and have already read the section of the story. cute dating stuff, traveling, elaboration of the world. all in all it's still very enjoyable but if you're wanting the greater story to make big advancements you'll need to wait for the next book.

More ethical issues but also a lot of goofing

Still in love with Elaine. Quite enjoying her “education” of Serondes.
Already bought the next two books in the series.

Slightly frustrating but gets better

The beginning of the book has much more of a slice of life kind of feel. Nothing wrong with that just felt like the urgency of getting home was lost. The main issue I had was when the action started, most of the time was spent inside the MC's head! Even at a time of great danger and intensity, it was bogged down by so much internal dialog! I felt frustrated on how long it took just for the scene to move on! After all that nonsense, the book picks up the urgency again and moves on at a much better pace. It's still a good book and I look forward for the next one! One last thing, I do believe the "Sex Talk" was handled well. communication is key to any relationship no matter the subject.

Awkward romance

The first half is a young (adult) girls first serious romance but the second half just about flips the tone completely and the ending wrap up is just some fun normalcy

while this was not the best book of the series it was still enjoyable and expanded on the world a bit so that was nice I can't wait for the next one!

good, but worst of the lot

While good, I still care less about most of the major interludes. Perhaps it's just me though. Good stuff, keep it up!

Ethical examinations: sex talk 1 and 2

I have really enjoyed " Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" so far. However, the chapter Ethical examinations was way too long.... too much... seemed to be just a recap of the MC thoughts on the ethics of her Oath. As far as the sex talk chapters and the elves.... why? Most men would have told her to go pound salt. The Elf was really into her and she spits out garbage like that right before sex with her partner ugh... horrible.. killing the mood And then she dumps him shortly after and thought mangos were better than sex with the elf guy. And this tryst was supposedly her first time having sex? Why all the hang ups? Where is the romance ? And I get that the MC has had a hard life however, why is she dumping the elves so quickly, the bad beer? She could have helped them clean out the parasites a bit more and took them into the human lands for a while with introductions. What is she afraid of? (Author "Wandering Agent") built a similar set of books in the "Melody of Mana" series. might want to look.

Another delightful installment

Loved it. Every moment of cringe felt very fitting considering the life Elaine has lived imo. I definately reccomend giving a read still. the innocent yet mature look at love Elaine has is refreshing and interesting. Really enjoying see where Iona's story is going. Excited for the next installment for sure. ♡
