Publisher's Summary

Riley’s Guardians are breaking apart, and he fears he can’t put them back together again.

A hybrid born of an Angel-Fallen union, Riley Shepard is an anomaly coveted by both sides of an ancient war. But he doesn’t want to fight their war; he has his own battles to face. As his family fractures, bonds are tested, and forbidden feelings threaten to tear his heart into bloody thirds.

When the next attack comes - not from the outside but from within - is he strong enough to separate truth from lies, allies from enemies, reality from fantasy? How can Riley know what’s true, when he doesn’t even know what’s real?

Life isn’t simple, love is complicated, and reality is terrifyingly blurry.

Illusion is the third book in the slow-burn harem/poly romance series, Fire & Brimstone, featuring hurt/comfort and broken but brave guardian angels; the first spicy taste of love, and an unlikely hero who learns to embrace his deepest desires.

Trigger warnings include: aftermath and non-graphic mentions of sexual assault, self-destructive behavior, and situations of mental instability.

Oh My Heart!

I loved books one and two, and there is no change in book three. Well, maybe I love this one more. The development of this world, the development of the characters, and the growth in both. The story does have a fair amount of angst and I fought hard from crying in this one. Oh, my heart for these boys. You just feel their feelings down to deep to your soul. And part of that is the life that Kirt Graves gives to them as well. The written word is so beautiful but the acting that Kirt does is amazing. I can't wait until they pair up and book 4 comes out!

Illusion Review

I read all the books and jumped on the chance for the audiobooks. Kirk Graves does a wonderful job with this story and characters, he just brings the story to life.

The continued world-building with these books while growing the relationships between the main characters is just amazing. I recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal/fantasy books.

This Series is Amazing! Brilliant Story & Listen🎧

Nikole Knight continues to wow me with her third book of her amazing “Fire & Brimstone Scrolls” series, the first two books are not to be missed and this book picks up soon after the second book, “Sacrifice” ended. The world building and character development has been phenomenal. Riley is learning more about himself and what he is, he is gaining confidence and is learning to get past his insecurities and doubts which helps him grow even more as a person. He still struggles with his inner demon, the most recent development, his inner self or rather, other self. I am looking forward to seeing where that development is heading to, other than a force to be reckoned with. Noel, who when thru hell when he sacrificed himself in the second book, is home but is broken and only a former shell of himself. Riley is not giving up on him and is doing his best to get him back to his usual self. Riley is developing feelings for his guardians and they returned those feelings, feeling that are forbidden to be acted on. When Riley shares intimate moments with each of them and he sees anger between Jai and Noel and he, in true Riley fashion acts in haste and does the unthinkable, he requests new guardians and the bond to Gideon, Noel and Jai to be broken and when it happens, it is such a heartrending moment. There is more relationship drama in this book, Ms. Janet is not giving up and want Riley out of school and back with her, she pulls a fast one on them which causes more problems for Riley and all his insecurities resurface and get the best of him. I loved how everything played out in this amazing fantasy paranormal romance novel, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and gut wrenching moments and a slow burn poly/harem romance that is heating up nicely. Nicole Knight thank you for another brilliantly captivating story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Kirt Graves delivers another outstanding performance, bringing these characters and their stories to life. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, giving each a voice that fits each character’s persona perfectly. sounding believable in every role he plays and just as I picture the character to sound. He has been consistent with his character voices throughout the series and the sound quality of the audio is superb. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance. This fabulously talented and versatile voice artist is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Thank you GRR

Angst with Hope

Illusion is the third book in the Fire and Brimstone Scroll series. This series must be read in order otherwise the reader will be completely lost and confused. The second book was packed with action and suspense and ended with Noel's rescue. Book three picks up from there, but it focuses on the healing process that Riley and his guardians have to go through after such drastic trauma. The angst is HIGH in this book. Certain characters frustrated me with their bad decisions, but the ending brought satisfaction because the characters became self-aware. This was a heavy book, but the ending left the reader with hope.

The audiobook was narrated by Kirt Graves who did a fantastic job. He put a lot of emotion and passion into his narration which really enriched the story. The audiobook production was well done.

Absolutely fantastic!!

Oh this series is getting better and better with each book and I already loved and adored the first two books. The world building is interesting and I love it that we learned more about the world and the characters in this book. I'm really invested in the story and I want to find out what is going to happen next and the relationships between the main four are so intriguing and beautiful. I'm really looking forward to find out how they are going to evolve. I can't wait to listen the next book! I'm loving these audiobooks. The narrator is great and just brings this great story to life beautifully.

Emotional

I clicked on this audio so damn fast when it came out. I’m been eagerly looking forward to this one.

Kirk Graves did a wonderful job bringing the characters to life. He captured their emotions, pain and depth of their feelings perfectly.

If you haven’t read this series then I would strongly recommend reading from the beginning. This is mind blowing yet emotional series that left my heart aching and don’t even get me started on my never ending waterworks.

One of the absolute best series!

Every time a new audio book comes out in this series I start from the beginning planning to just listen to the audios but it’s so bonkers good that I have to read the whole series again!! And while I’ve obviously read this book before and loved it, Kirt Graves just brings so much magic and life to these stories that these characters become tangible and real. In this installment Graves masterfully delivers on the heartache, the pain, the amazing chemistry, and each unique character and it is just absolutely stunning. I cannot wait until they’re all available on audio!

Intense...

This amazing series continued in book 3. I enjoyed a lot how Riley, Jai, Noel and Gideon overcame new challenges in their feelings and relationships, while struggling to accept the past. I need to made a couple of comments: First, this book is part of a series, you really need to read it in order, or you were going to loose all the captivating plot, the intricate relationships between the characters and how everything started. One of the best series ever written by Ms Knight. Second, this book is intense, full of angst and many difficult emotions that made me cry and cause me stress but at the end all settled just fine. Mr Graves is a wonderful voice actor and managed all the emotions and feelings beautifully helping me to enjoy even more the characters and the story. Great narration!
