Publisher's summary

They call me a hero. I save people. It's what I do. It's the only thing I've ever wanted to do.

Then I meet her - the girl with the sad eyes. She's lost everything. Twice. And I know she's using me to forget her past.

Just when things seem perfect, that past threatens with the unimaginable.

They may call me a hero. But she's the one person I can't save.

Another Must Read - This author is truly special!

I was waiting for this story as Sebastian is a character we meet in Stealing Sawyer and I really wanted a constructed happily ever after for him. I hope you can multi-task because this story sucks you in at the very beginning so it's difficult to "adult" and hit pause when life's priorities are calling.
I found this author last year and quickly consumed her stories. she's truly exceptional. Her characters are usually dealing with major trauma or life altering circumstances, but it's believable and understandable and easy to sympathize with their journeys. The thing is, I have a low threshold for stories with angst, after reading Ms. Christy's stories I realize that most of the angsty storylines that bother me are the drama filled characters that just need to take a breath but choose to create barriers for themselves. Ms. Christy's characters have usually gone through something really awful, like tear up when you listen to it, awful.
Igniting Ivy is no different. Ivy has gone through a horrible loss so the chance she takes with opening her heart to Seb and the chance he takes on Ivy makes for a compelling love story. The last kudos I will give about this story and many of Ms. Christy's stories, is that she has mastered the plot twist or little plot bomb. You think you know how the story will end or flow, but you don't and its always magical. I highly recommend this book and any others by this author.

I hate to leave this low of a rating on this book but...

I feel horrible for what Ivy has gone through. Her story is horrific and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But I feel equally horrible for Bass. He hasn't had it easy in the love department and when he finally finds the one, she pushes him away to the point that I didn't think there was any way they could be fixed.

I was so very happy I was wrong, I should have known better since it's their book and all. You may be asking yourself, then why the low rating? Well, here's my opinion. I loooove this Author, I devour everything she writes...usually. There was a lot of shiz that went down in this book and some of it was completely unnecessary. In fact, one character, in my opinion, should have been more present in the story-line because of his involvement.

When they finally found their way back to one another, I was beyond ecstatic. I mean, hello? I love Bass and he so deserves his HEA, which he did get, hallelujah. But after the last bomb drops, I don't know how he could not finally call it quits. I mean he was robbed of so much and they just carry on like it's no big deal. Um, it's a big deal. Anyone in this situation would think it's a HUGE deal. I know this is completely vague, but I'm not a spoilery kinda gal. So I'll say this. Read it. Form your own options. Would I recommend this book? Absolutely, just bring tissues and an open mind.

DEPRESSING AS HELL!! ( NOT SEXY)

This book starts out interesting but takes a nose dive fast!! I feel the writer created an incredibly week female lead character. Not interesting to me! Ivy cries about 1000 times in this audio book to the point where it's sickening... she is an extremely emotional character that should be in a psych Ward not breeding children, she is an emotional basket case and the exact type of candidate that should never have children. Instead of trying to have more kids she should have had her tubes tied! Why would any writer...write such an emotional inferior character? The only thing I liked about this audio book were the voices of the narrator's... they're both excellent and I have enjoyed listening to their voices and other books. This book was filed under sexy but there is nothing sexy about it ...everything ends in the lead character ivy crying to the point of hysteria. Also after listening to ivy's back story on getting pregnant several times on purpose and high school before the age of 18 makes me feel that she is a complete idiot. High school students have no clue what the world is about they also don't have jobs nor savings nor money nor a roof over their head the thought of a teenager purposely trying to get pregnant is 100% ridiculous and Mostly selfish and regards to not being able to provide for a new human being. To Be perfectly honest, this book really pissed me off. I enjoy listening to thriller romances after a long day of work instead of watching the movie I find them fun and relaxing and it takes my mind to a different place. This book was none of that it was actually stressful listening - I had no sympathy for Ivy's character she sounds like a dumb broad. Hopefully the next read by this author will be better if not I will no longer be buying these books...Namaste

‘Daisies gonna make everything better.’

The book was amazing and Erin and Teddy did a great job bringing Ivy and Sebastian to life.
Ivy endures something no woman should have to and while in Hawaii trying to find herself Sebastian is brought into her path. As a firefighter, Sebastian wants to break down her walls to save her. But the question is, can he? Grab some tissues and find out!

Bass is the perfect book boyfriend!

I loved everything about the hero in this story. Ivy has undergone terrible loss. I struggled with some of the choices she makes. One of the signs of a good story is when it elicits emotions from you (good and bad). I was hooked and finished this book in one day. Even though I was frustrated with Ivy, I love the way Bass persisted in his feelings. There is nothing sexier than a man who is not afraid of his feelings and willing to support the people he loves.

Gut wrenching romance with all the feels

Couldn’t have ask for better narration duo than #themuffandtheham. What a gut wrenching story from Samantha Christy. All the recollection chapters made me teary eyed (definitely an ugly cry) Love all the emotions the book evoked, the tenderness, the sadness, and the elation are so well narrated. So glad that Bas got his own HEA with Ivy.

Loved

I don’t have anything negative to say about this book! The only thing I could even ask more of was maybe another chapter at the end to really close things up. I also loved that we heard from Brady, Sawyer and even Kyle Stone. It was like a cast reunion at one point and we got to hear kind of what was going on in their lives at the time. Can’t wait to get to the next one!

Emotional & Heartbreaking

Ivy goes to Hawaii after tragedy hits her. Sebastian goes to Hawaii after being left at the alter. They meet and have connection and end up falling in love. Event tears them apart but Sebastian won’t let it go. Samantha writes a powerful, heartbreak story that will make you ugly cry but will leave you smiling in the end with a happy ending. Teddy & Erin knocked it out of the the park really capturing their character emotions. Definitely a five star read.

So good!

I have fallen in love with Samantha Christy’s books. They are all so good and the stories can go really deep. This one is no exception. The subject matter was very emotional. Ripped your heart out and put it back together. Can’t wait to finish this series. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are amazing as always!!!

Meh, it’s just really heavy handed

I liked this well enough, but it wasn’t exactly nuanced, and I found it hard to get into the romance with all the plot devices that was were used. I’m usually fine with miscommunications/secret keeping yada yada… but here it felt gratuitous even though I could sympathize with Ivy’s reasoning. I dunno, I never connected with either character, and ding actually feel their chemistry. Generally, the romance was just lacking overall because there were so many B and C plots. Then all the daisy hints were too much, in my opinion. The twist was interesting? I just sort of want Eli’s book more though because of it. Also what was that almost cheating-but-obviously-it’s-no-big-deal-because-we-are-emotional moment? Didn’t care for how it was handled.

Narration was superb, I love Teddy and Erin together.

Stunningly beautiful.

Oh my god. Where do I even start? Well this story was absolutely heartbreaking and heart wrenching in every way. The subject matter in the main plot was truly so sad but dealt with so beautifully and with a great deal of care.

Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon made this book so much more. They narrated it perfectly. The emotion and heartbreak in their narration was so evident. In my opinion, possibly their best work!!

The plot is so believable and really draws you in. You feel he pain and grief with the characters throughout this story. It is such a hard and difficult road that the main characters travel until they find their true happiness. But my goodness when they find their happiness you can’t help but feel genuinely, truly happy for them both. It has such a perfect ending and you are really rooting for the main characters throughout the entire story.

Samantha Christie is such an amazing writer and I adore everything she has ever written.

Good storyline

Good writing, love the series but too much suspense. Ivy was just too much, I wanted to pull my hair out. I have to fall for Sebastian because he wasn't my favourite person when penny and sawyer were together. however I fell for him. was so mad at Ivy for Sebastian missing the pregnancy.

tears and babies

I wish the dust cover had revealed that little bit of info as I wouldn't have listened. I love the chapter that belonged to Bas and his work..but the rest.....well i don't have kids and I'm not maternal so i absolutely drowned in the book...drowned in tears and babies. if I'd known I would have passed......30 something chapters of tears and babies.....On boy!!
teddy was the perfect voice for bas......he was quietly calm and gave one the impression that the hero was genuine and level headed.
Erin is brilliant as always having to do a lot of crying tone /talk

if you love baby stories then get ya tissues and knock yourself out. I prefer the baseball series, am worried about denvers story as I don't want babies and tears again.
