Publisher's summary

Sixteen-year-old Petter loved his life. It was normal. Unfortunately, that fact is currently past tense. Now, he is sitting on a plane moving across the world towards an unknown future, and into his inbox drops an email from his father. That alone would not be remarkable for most people. For Petter though, it rather is, since his father passed away weeks earlier.

Together with Max, the math tutor turned friend, they explore an adventure put together by his father from beyond the grave.

Touching

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This book was a surprise to me. I was not sure what to expect. It was a really good book that had me a bit sad at some parts but made me smile at others. It reminded me a bit of the movie "P.S I love you". I really enjoyed this and I admit I cried once or twice. Shhhh don't tell anyone.

The narrator was on point with the voices and some of the accents. There was a good flow to the story and to the narrator's voice. I loved this book!

So much to like

I am very glad I took a chance on this heartwarming audiobook. It is heartwarming, witty and just a little bit sad to keep you following along. The characters are very well developed and just when you think you know everything about them you learn something new. I had a different idea of how this audiobook would go but boy, am I glad I was wrong because this one was a very nice change of pace for me and I very much enjoyed it. It is filled with trial and tribulation, new friendships, and blossoming love. At times, I thought that things worked out just a little too perfectly for our characters but it does not take away from the story one bit. At the beginning of the book I thought the choice of narrator was a bit odd seeming as the main character of this book is mail and they chose a female narrator. My mind changed almost immediately as the performance is very very well done. There are distinct voices for each character and it is done flawlessly switching back-and-forth between them. There are a few accents and a few French speaking portions of the book that are very magnificently done. Even in those emotional scenes attention and tone stepped up a notch. Do yourself a favour and pick this one up if you like YA treasure hunts and blossoming love. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review from audiobook boom. This in no way affected my opinion of this work.

Needed a narrator with a Norwegian accent

As much as I enjoyed this story and the wonderful journey Petter was on, I was constantly chagrined that a story about a Norwegian native was not narrated by someone with a Norwegian accent. The only thing Norwegian about this story was the pronunciation of Petter's name. The beauty of audiobooks is the audio. The narrator had a pleasant enough voice but she was a bad choice for this story. I could not immerse myself info the character when Petter (pronounced 'pett-er' with a rolling r) sounded like he was from Southern California.
