Good, important advise; but...

Whoopi is great, a familiar friend and wonderful narrator. She gives important advise, updated common sense for today's adults. In particular, we need to stop shaming women for their sexual and relational freedom.

However, I think her final point really comes from her posture towards committed relationships. For some reason she decides to close by telling men that if they are dating a single mother, they need to accept that they will always be second to the kids. My perspective is that I can have equal but separate priorities in my life: my kids, my work, and my partner. Kids need to learn that they are not always #1, and partners need to be able to give each other the attention and support worthy of a real, committed partnership. Equally important, but separate for their own reasons.

I LOVED this book. Whoopi made me laugh out loud and deeply reflect on my romantic life choices during these 4 hours of gold. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook if you're at a crossroads concerning what you want, or what you thought you wanted, in a relationship. Thank you, Whoopi!

YES!

Wow. Refreshingly honest and helpful!

This book was both entertaining and informative. And the author's narration was spot on perfect. Listening to this was like having a close personal friend reveal her innermost secrets. The honesty about pitfalls in relationships and personal failings made it possible to relate to the things that we all encounter in life. Did I do or experience what the author did? No. But she opened the door to a realization that it's helpful to be honest with yourself! I'm sure I'll be listening to this one again! It's a great refresher to remind me of what to look out for in this life. Highly recommend. It doesn't take long, and it's very enjoyable.
