Publisher's Summary

Is Dylan hunting Casey to prosecute her or protect her?

Casey Cox is still on the run, fleeing prosecution for a murder she didn't commit. Dylan Roberts - her most relentless pursuer - is still on her trail, but his secret emails insist that he knows the truth and wants to help her. He's let her escape before when he had her in his grasp, but trust doesn't come easily.

As Casey works to collect evidence about the real murderers, she stumbles on another unbearable injustice: an abused child and a suicidal man who's also been falsely accused. Casey risks her own safety to right this wrong and protect the little girl from her tormenters. But doing so is risky and just may result in her capture - and if she's captured, she has no doubt she'll be murdered before she ever steps foot in a jail.

In this riveting sequel to the USA Today best seller If I Run, evil lurks, drawing Casey out of the shadows...but there is light shining in the darkness. Is Dylan a provision from the God who loves her or another heartache yet to happen?

Couldn't put it down

Any additional comments?

I was a little hesitant to buy this book because of one of the reviews that said the narrator was not good. I'm so glad I got it in spite of the review! While the narrator is not the best I've heard, she is certainly a long way from poor! The narration in NO WAY detracted from the story. The characters in this series are very easy to like and get involved with. The plot has enough twists and details to keep you interested - in fact, I never wanted to turn it off and when I had to, I could hardly wait for my next opportunity to listen again.
Casey's spiritual journey is believable.
I'm looking forward to book 3 of this series!

The story has me intrigued... I am getting used to

Present tense writing but the story has me hooked… The narration is a bit better than the previous narrator but it is difficult to differentiate between characters – even the male and female leads.

This is my first Terry Blackstock book/trilogy, I don't think I will continue with her – but I want to know how the story ends.

NOTE: This is a trilogy, not a standalone.

Great book, not great narrator

The good news is, the plot is fast moving yet continues to develop characters, with good twists and turns. The bad news is, the narrator does a poor job when using a modified "male character" voice. She makes the lead male sound a bit slow-witted because of the tone. She should not try to emulate a male voice, just speak in her own tone. Better yet, find a male narrator to read the male parts. That would make the book a five star!

Good story...but not narration

Book 2 did not disappoint except for the narrator. I almost quit listening but decided to stick with it since I enjoyed the first book so much. I'm looking forward to Book 3, but I really hope the narration will be better.

So predictable

I wanted to like this book, but it was way too predictable. Full of cliches, I could predict all the next steps.
The narrator drove me up the wall with over-pronouncing the word ‘to’. Once I noticed it it was like a jarring annoyance in every sentence.

Just as good as the first, perhaps even better!!

I've listened to books 1 and 2 in this series in 3 days...absolutely LOVED both of them! The mystery, suspense, drama...it's wonderfully written, and the end of the book left me feeling rather sorry for myself that book 3 is still next year. Looking forward to an exciting end to the story line, seeing justice served to Keenan and the others and a happy ending for Casey and Dylan!
