Ice Queen - A wonderful romance
I confess, one of my favorite romance books is, Coffee Sonata, so when I found that this book took place in East Quay I snatched it up immediately. Needless to say, Gun Brooke and her new book Ice Queen, did not disappoint. The story is wonderful. Her character development was spot on. Susanna, a top exec, and Aislin, a high school counselor, are well rounded, identifiable, and are two characters you invest in. The character of Cynt, Susanna's teenage daughter is also a character you come to care about. Keira Grace did a wonderful job of narration. I really enjoyed listening to the Audible version and hope to see more of Gun Brooke's turned into this format. My only regret? I wish it was longer.

First Go Around With This Author
Picked up the audio honestly speaking because one of my favorite narrators was attached. Happy to report this was an enjoyable listen. Wouldn't really describe this as a slow burn, more like gradual meeting of the hearts. Really nice to see all three of the main characters blossom. I was thinking the worse for Cynt, so happy what I thought happened didn't, even though what did is still unacceptable. Audio is worth a listen, Excellent story by Ms. Brooke and another smooth performance by Keira Grace

Hmmm
The ice queen herself had all the hallmarks of a proper ice queen. The main character was a power top, wealthy, guarded and all the qualities found in an ice queen. However, the flow of conversation, the scenarios, the inner monologue were all quite stilted, awkward and unmoving for me. I was just going through the motions of finishing the book until I reached, probably 50%? The part where one of the characters was de-icing their car. That was the first time I got remotely excited reading the book.
In summary, it was an ok read. I would have left it with 2 stars but there was flutter of heartbeat for me at some point during my read so I think 3 stars would be deserving. I don't hate it but I'm not moved by the story either.

Sexy and gritty
While not many scenarios in this book seem super likely, I liked the emotional content, it seemed authentic and relatable. Where are all these hot single female queer billionaires in my town?
