Brought to you by Penguin.

David and Cheryl Baskin are living the dream—married, a beautiful new house in the suburbs, a three-year-old son named Matthew—when tragedy strikes in the worst way possible.

David awakes to find himself covered in blood... but not his own, his son's. While David is sure he did not murder his son, the overwhelming evidence against him puts him behind bars indefinitely.

Then, five years following his imprisonment, his wife's sister brings David a photograph of Matthew looking very much alive, accompanied by an unknown figure.

Can David escape prison, find Matthew and bring him home?

The consequences are dire, but prospect of being reunited with his son is way too tempting to resist.

Soon David is on the run. But it soon transpires that he knows way too much, and that there are people out there who will do anything to silence him. For ever...

Good Story, Mediocre Ending

This book is a page turner with lots of twists and turns which was great but a couple parts didn’t work. The book was fast-paced and had some interesting twists. Unfortunately, some of them were not very likely, but the author didn't give you time to question much. I don't regret reading it because it was a fun read and didn't take much time. A part of the ending was good but another part was disappointing because excuses were given why the guilty avoided any consequences so it felt unfinished but overall a fast read.

Very good!

I love Harlan Coben! And this book was excellent, as most of his work. It was interesting form the start, twist and turns, never a doll moment. Finished the audiobook in 3 days. And Steven Weber - such a wonderful narrator!

10/10 would recommend!

Riveting storyline and great narration

It is very rare I give 5 stars, but this book deserves it. So many little twists and turns before the whole story is revealed. I couldn’t stop listening, and yet I didn’t want the book to be over. if my attention wandered (as I am often multitasking while listening) I rewound to make sure I didn’t miss a clue. Steven Weber is a great narrator which definitely adds to the book. I also love the little tie in of Hester to Harlan’s other books. Save this for a long drive!

Gem among all of coben’s books

Beautiful story, quite fantastic yet believable . Incredible premise and gets going from page 1. Thriller but yet keeps the human elements and doesn’t shy away from playing to the emotions. Highly recommended
