Publisher's summary

A husband writes about his romance, marriage, honeymoon, and life with the woman of his dreams. Tender moments of love and intimacy build a strong relationship that can not be torn apart by her history of sexual abuse as a child, and her slow decline into dementia and Alzheimer's. Written by the author of the February 2018 Rave Review Book Club "Book of the Month" selection, The Totally Unnecessary Death of Amanda Dawn, the listener gets to feel some of the joy, the love, the intimacy, the happiness, the pain, regret, and the sadness of this relationship over the course of 40-plus years.

From the shyness to the sadness, the author reveals it all. When his wife could no longer remember it, Verwayne Greenhoe remembers for her in I Remember Judy - A Love Story.

Excellent Story

I loved the “love” story but I wish it had been a fiction for the author. I have always heard seeing a loved one go through this is horrible and horrible for the loved one(s). I’m glad you did have those years together.
I know it had to be tough recounting the last few years but writing things down is sometimes therapeutic.
His book was very well written and kept my interest the entire reading. The humor was just right. He had just the right amount of descriptives.

I was drawn in by the subject matter, having recently started working with those struggling with dimentia. There was also the hope that his life story would be an inspiration to me as I maneuver my way through my own relationship and current career choice, but I was also intrigued by his self published accomplishment.

I began writing as a preteen in middle school and seemed to go on hiatus after college sometime. Regardless of whether I do or don't, I always enjoy supporting my fellow artists of all walks, which is why I decided to rate and review this title.

I asked my boyfriend if we could listen together, and before long, he seemed just as, or even more, interested in it than I was. It wasn't a hard sell to get him to listen for a couple hours before I had to go to work, and again when I got home before we went to bed. We both loved the story, and while we disagree on the romantics of it (he isn't so keen on them while I adored every minute) we both agreed that V's decisions were right on and that the way things went wrong seemed to be way wrong, perhaps to uphold the balance he mentions and why they keep referring to themselves as being star-crossed.

It's a beautiful, and at times whimsical story of a love, which I have personally seen in enough couples to know, is more than just love. It's not just a love story, but a lesson in kindness, patience, and most importantly, respect and communication.

My boyfriend commented that he feels like I snuck him into therapy somehow, and in a way it is. Not only is it a real life example of what being forever in love should look like, but it has that quiet, therapeutic voice of the narrator that is easy to listen to and sincere. However, it's also a great story, and one that many of us long for and few ever find. Verwayne and Judy did in fact have something truly special, and I couldn't be more excited that he has decided to share that beautiful life with the rest of us through his books.

Anyone wanting to fall in love, anyone dealing with dimentia in their own life, and anyone who appreciates a good ol' love story should read this book. It's so easy to get through that I found myself debating whether I had enough time to get through one more chapter or not, before rushing off to work. This book is proof that love truly conquers all. That's something I see every day when I can make a resident laugh and have a good time and they feel compelled to tell me they love me before going to bed as if they've known me for ages, even though moments later they may barely remember me, if at all.

Wonderful story!

This had to be a hard story for the author to write as he recounted the experiences and trials faced by his wife and himself, but at the same time, I can see how writing it would also bring back fond memories of their life together. Excellent writing and narration! Emotional and enjoyable at the same time!
