To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable.

Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God. They move into an examination of the source of morality and the reliability of the New Testament accounts concerning Jesus. The final section of the book deals with a detailed investigation of the claims of Christ. This volume will be an interesting book for those skeptical about Christianity, as well as a helpful resource for Christians seeking to articulate a more sophisticated defense of their faith.

This book does a good job laying out the obvious holes in the claim that Christianity is not true

Indeed, I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist, and would venture to say that this would apply to many

Evidence galore

This is the most comprehensive resource on apologetics that I have come across. Absolutely great resource for Christians defending their faith.

So much detail!

Such a great book, but errors in some claims regarding being able to fully reconstruct our New Testament based off of church father quotations, the church fathers paraphrased and combined references from various passages just as Paul and other New Testament authors did for Old Testament allusions. In order for us to use the church father’s in textual criticism (which I don’t suggest), we need to observe where their quotations witness various manuscripts (which means we can’t do away or claim not to need Greek New Testament manuscripts). Fortunately, the church father’s aren’t necessary at all for affirming the veracity of our New Testament based on the embarrassment of riches we have with Greek New Testament manuscripts (over 6,000 manuscripts of various sizes). I greatly recommend Myths and Mistakes in New Testament Textual Criticism by Elijah Hixson if you would like to explore this subject more accurately.

Great resource
