Started out strong…but

This story had sooo many good reviews and I thought why not give it a try. Well, it started out strong but it went downhill after that. I skipped so many chapters bc the story dragged and got boring. After skipping three and more chapters, I didn’t miss anything. The readers didn’t improve either. Listen at your own risk. This author is new to me. That said, I cannot recommend this story since I didn’t like it.

Straight up addicting story

Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio blew me away. Once I read the synopsis, I knew it would be one that I would drop everything to listen too. I wanted to slow down and savor the story but I could not put stop listening. This book is straight up addicting and I loved every second.

Ava is a young woman who works at a law firm and is a dedicated and hard worker, she is so dedicated that she has to be forced to take a vacation on the lovely isle of Maui. While trying to relax and enjoy her vacation she meets a swoony man named Ford who is a surfer and loves the island life.

Both Ava and Ford have had some tough times in their personal lives but they have an instant attraction to each other which is why they decide on an island fling. The questions come when they have Togo back to their real lives what happens then.

I’ve read all of Lara Ward Cosio’s books, which I love and this is my first audio book of hers, it does not disappoint. It was the perfect mix of everything I love in a book.

Does NOT Disappoint!!

If I thought this book was good in print, hearing Ford and Ava’s story come to life only solidified how amazing their love story is and how great Lara Ward Cosio is at keeping her reader (listener) hanging on every word. I had never listened to an audiobook narrated by either Barrie Kealoha or Hugh Bradley and initially that made me nervous, as I am a self proclaimed narrator snob. But both narrators did a wonderful job and I couldn’t imagine anyone else reading those characters. Bottom line...whether you read this book or listen to the audio, you’ll be getting a feel good love story that no one should miss...especially in all the craziness and uncertainty that is currently all of our lives. Please listen, you will not be disappointed!

PARADISE FOUND

Totally sucked in. Great narrations brought the story to reality. Ford and Ava were as opposite as they come but found their souls were a perfect fit right in the middle. Some predictability and little angst but I was invested in both characters to the HEA.
I was gifted this copy and am freely offering my honest review.
