Enjoyed hearing Cesar's tips for guiding owners through puppyhood. Would definitely recommend listening to it before getting a puppy of your own!

Excellent for arrested development in adult Rescue

Recommended to my old friend getting a new puppy. Actually I am hounding her to get this book before her puppy is born. Can't say enough. How about I only got this book after many puppy experiences that I wish I had read this book first for. But happy - thrilled to read it now while I have been in the planning , preparation, and honeymoon phases of my first Rescue dog. If I could only meet Ceasar, who has blest us so much, I would suggest he amend this book to include young adult rescue dogs. Since, like the battered men and women I work with, they have been arrested in emotional growth from the time their abuse began. So a good 80% of this book is valuable in rehabilitating Adult Rescue Puppies!

Excellent Information

I love the Dog Whisperer show and the books are great. I'm getting a new puppy in 4 weeks and I feel less trepidation about this one than I did about the last because I have an idea how to raise him right. I'll definitely be reading this again a couple times before my puppy comes home.

Cesar is a reader of Daniel Goleman That's how he

Cesar Millan is the greatest thing since the napkin. He has taken the concept of mindfulness and brought to the animal world. Just in time too. I have used mindfulness skills to keep my own life in order and I was quick to see that he too has read Daniel Goleman's books on Mindfulness skills, or as Cesar puts it, " staying in the moment because that's how animals live everyday ." Cesar then applies this staying in the moment thinking in his work for people to better understand how your dogs mind functions. He also breaks it down for the " people " to be able to get a clear message on what and where they need to be in their thinking when their with their pets in various situations. When talking to people in his seminars Cesar is using his mindfulness skills all the time to keep the people in the moment with him. He will save not only dogs in his life but many many people too.
