Short and Sweet Intro to a New Series

This short story is a prequel of the Chester Falls series that spotlights the owner of the town book store, Bookmarked, and Tristan, a new town resident who is fleeing from the memory of his cheating ex. They meet at on out of the way bar where they share a heated hookup. However, Ben decided not to contact Tristan after the encounter, despite the chemistry that occurred between them. But with the help of some friends, Ben and Tristan are reunited and they are offered a chance to explore a relationship between them.

Nick Hudson does a great job of narrating this short and charming story. He is able to bring life to the characters and gets the listener involved with the story.

cute and sweet short story

A fun introduction to the series. If you are looking for a lighthearted small town MM then I recommend this series.

Usually love this narrator but this wasn't his best work - lots of long pauses for one of the characters that got annoying.

I really like the short story and I think you woul

I have to say I like the short story a lot it's filled with love is filled with happiness but most of all is filled with desire and maybe one day by a fantasy but it's something that is beautiful and wonderful and based on the story it's about fast love true love and all of it together and I hope this really does help but most of all I hope that you enjoy it like I did

Then he caught his lovely bookworm

A sweet story set in a small town in New England which is very LGBT friendly. This was short and enjoyable.

Chester found out that he’s been cheated and was down in the dumps. So he was driving around town and ended up in a gay bar to unwind and hooked up with a cutie there. He gave the cutie his number but never got a call. Instead of getting his heart broken from his a-hole ex, he couldn’t forget the cutie he met in the bar. Then by a chance encounter, they met again.

This is very short and sweet and I really wanted more from this sweet couple. I have read/listened some other books in the same universe and I think this was a good and short introduction to the rest of the series.

Ben & Tristan

A quick and sweet listen that is a prequel to the wonderful Chester falls series. Ben and Tristan meet at a bar and have a one night stand. They each stay on the other's mind but the last thing they expect is to see each other again. But when they do, their chemistry and connection are hard to ignore. The narrator is wonderful in bringing these characters to life and also the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Really great!

This was a super cute one! The narration was pretty good, Nick Hudson had an excellent voice for the characters. He brought passion and angst to life with his tones and vocal sounds. The story was sweet and fun. I really liked the side characters and the way the author connected the two without them realizing it until it was too late. Over all it was an excellent piece to enjoy 😊

Short and sweet

A short story introducing the town of Chester Falls and some of the leading players in the series. The relationship moves quickly but having just read the book about their wedding I appreciated the background of how they met.

Another great book

I really enjoyed this book. It was great getting to see Ben and Tristan's story from the start. Although this book is shorter than the others it doesnf take away from how good it is. The narrator did a fantastic job again bringing the characters to life.

Ben & Tristian’s Story

It was good to finally see Ben & Tristian’s start! They pop up in the previous books of the series, and getting to see how they meet and eventually get together is nice. While this book is a good, sweet read, it is much shorter than the previous books I’m the series and I felt that at times there were things being rushed.
The narration by Nick Hudson was okay but the extended pauses between sentences/paragraphs/chapters got to be very annoying.
While it was nice to see Ben & Tristian’s story, this will probably be one that I skip on the audio if I read it in the future.

Perfect introduction to Chester Falls

I really wish this had been longer because I absolutely loved this little snippet of Ben and Tristan.
A chance encounter leads to a sizzling night of passion that leaves both men wanting more.
Neither one can stop thinking about thinking about the other until fate intervenes and they realize they live in the same town.
Absolutely sweet and adorable.
Nick Hudson did a great job narrating.

Lovely prequel to a great series

I admit I love Chester Falls. A picturesque New England town that is very LGBTQ friendly. There’s something charming about that, especially in the world we’re currently enduring. I’ve listened to all the Chester Falls books, and I have to admit this one started a bit differently. Like with a bang. A literal one. In the bathroom of a gay club. A well-used incident, to be sure, but one that works in this case.

Tristan has just discovered his jerk boyfriend is not into fidelity and he’s hurt. He probably saw this coming, but that doesn’t lessen the pain. He drives around until finally winding up at a gay bar far out of the new town he’s just settled in. A quick bang with a cute guy in the bathroom? Just what he needs to feel better.

Except it leaves him feeling empty and wondering about the adorable guy he’s been with. He gave the guy his number, but the guy never called. Still, Tristan is doing his best to settle into his new job and even attends his friend Hannah’s party where she is with her girlfriend Ellie. These two lesbians appear later in the series and I loved watching their relationship blossom and thrive.

Anyway, it isn’t until Tristan meets up with the bookish guy that the pieces fall into place and Ellie, meddling woman that she is, ensures her boss Ben and the man he’s obviously attracted to get some quality alone time. Forced proximity, if only for a short time.

There are other characters who appear later in the series who pop in but the story truly focuses on the two men and whether they can overcome their hesitations to commit to each other.

I’ll give a shout out to Nick Hudson who is doing a fantastic job of narrating the series. He just suits it perfectly. If you haven’t tried these, this audio is a great short and fun introduction to the town and its inhabitants. And hopefully you’ll want to go on and read the rest of the books.

Short, sweet and fun!

A cute short story in the Chester Falls series - the prequel really.
Ben and Tristan are a fun and hot couple. When they meet at a club, it's insta-lust. The rest ost of the story is about them moving beyond the instant attraction.
Nick Hudson dies a great job, as always! He's been really good for the series. Enjoyed the audiobook a lot!

How a great series began

I didn't start the Chester Falls series with this prequel, but have loved every book in the series, so it was great to back up and kind of see how things started. I adore books about nerdy bookworms and bookstore owners so this was right up my alley. The two characters were great for each other, the romance was hot and as always with Ana Ashley she knows how to end a story perfectly. Her last chapters and epilogs always make me sigh, smile and close the book with a sense of warmth and comfort. Nick Hudson is the perfect narrator for this series. He has the right mix of emotional depth and lightness the stories require. It just sounds like he is having a ball performing these.

Short, cute Chester Falls prequel!

A short prequel to the Chester Falls series, a small town with a big heart. Ben meets Tristan a week after Tristan has broken up with his cheating boyfriend and sparks fly. All these books are cute and good-natured and this is no exception. I always prefer longer books over shorter ones, so I would have loved a full novel - it gives me time to really sit with the characters, see their personalities at work, and learn their backstories. This story was the definition of short but sweet. 🎧 Nick Hudson is one of those voice actors who can make his words smile with warmth, it’s always fun and pleasant to hear him narrate.
