But Gus isn't normal and Casey deserves someone who can be. Suddenly wanting to be that someone, Gus steps out of his comfort zone and plans to become the most normal person ever.

After all, what could possibly go wrong?

Beautiful

This has everything I love in an audiobook. Made me laugh out loud, smile, cry, and feel just about every other emotion. Well written and wonderfully read. I’ve listened to this book more times than I can remember.

it’s a really freaking good book and you won’t regret buying it i promise. tj klune has me by the balls, the mischievous masochistic monster.

Pretty good.

Could use some editing. Lots of repeatetive scenes that don't really add much. Makes it slow and boring on some parts.
Narrator was pretty good. Not annoying unlike this Leslie guy I'm listening to right now who sounds so ooooold.

I would recommend this audiobook to anyone. The story itself was great and the narrator did a fantastic job. I really enjoyed it.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the characters. Gus was such a grumpy sweetheart. A little on the clueless side, but in a funny way. Casey was so nice and easy going about everything. I really liked the relationship they had together. The secondary characters were so much fun also.

Have you listened to any of Derrick McClain’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to Derrick McClain before, that I can remember, but I really enjoyed his performance and would definitely listen to him again.

If you could rename How to Be a Normal Person, what would you call it?

I wouldn't rename it. This is what Gus was searching for and he truly found it by being himself.

Any additional comments?

This was just a really nice story about two guys finding their way to a relationship. It was a little over the top funny at times, but I think that was why I liked it so much. It was just that kind of off humor that made me laugh and the narrator really gave it the right feel. Gus' calls to buy the internet were fantastic. Gus and Casey were so sweet together. I loved that awesome hugs and some kisses were really all that was needed. I would absolutely recommend this book.

It passed the time

The only thing that really bugged me, was how, at the beginning of many many words and many many paragraphs and many many sentences, the narrator overemphasized, or over breathed or something. ... Started to get irritating. I can't even explain it. The book was clever, though.

totally 100% loved this book! I felt like I lived in the crazy world of Gus and Casey. I laughed, got pissed off , was sad but most of all that I got to got to be a part of their insane world

I’m on chapter 10… and I am CACKLING!! One of the funniest books I’ve ever read/listened to. Not the book I expected but the book I needed🤣🤣 don’t know what will happen next but I can’t wait!

I've read this one on my own a few years back and liked it. However, I enjoyed it so much more on audio. The narrator did a solid job bringing the characters to life. He gave new life to the story. Good job!

Surprising, delightful, and heartwarming

The narrator is absolutely fantastic, and I am so happy I listened to this book rather than reading it. He really brings the characters to life.

I went into this book knowing nothing, on the recommendation of a family member, and was delightedly surprised. Several times I had to stifle giggles at work.
