Thought the years went by, but they didn’t stop loving each other…
The whole series is worth listening Each of the story stands on its own.

Historical Romance

Another entertaining story. The narrator is easy and pleasant to listen to and reads the parts well.

Very Good!

I throughly enjoyed this story. Although it is a bit light on the romance it has a wonderful secondary story regarding love for one's sibling. There are several disjointed characters in the story if you are reading as a stand alone. Therefore, I reccommend you first read 'This Rake of Mine (The Bachelor Chronicles Book 2)' to get some background on a few key secondary figures. That book is set in the past so consider reasing book3, Love Letters from a Duke also, to be brought into the present.

There is a terrific twist to the story, that feels like it is predictable but was a surprise when it was actually revealed.
Also, This story is told at is a faster pace than the previous books in the series. On one hand it is nice that there is no unnecessary filler. The story is complete but told in a concise manner. I do wish there had been an epilog (Like I said, a bit too light on the lovey dovey romance), but perhaps we will hear more from this couple in the next couple of books.

It is always a gamble whether you will get a good story or a dud from E.Boyle. For me, this was one of the best ones of the series.

A solid, well-written Romance

The story building up to the romance and the episodes of conflict leading to the HEA were very well crafted. I still don't like it when the heroine gasps and begs "please... my lord" in the throes of working up to the imminent love-making. Thankfully, I only heard it twice. One of the reveals at the end of the story really surprised me, but in a good way. This story, along with its pleasing narration, is a welcome addition to my Audible library.

Not the best book for the Covid era

I use to really like this author, but I don't think she does well with long series, as the plots start to go down hill with every book. I had this one in my cart for several months before purchasing...I regret it and I am only on chapter 2!!
The story begins with the h/h meeting and going over the death of the hero's brother. Then its a flashback in chapter 2 to when they originally met , and when the brother is still alive. This reminds me too much of what's happening in real life, when someone has died and you then hear about how great they were . I was constantly trying to skip over any flashback to the brother so that I would not become invested in him, as I knew what would eventually happen to his character. There is also another death close to the heroine. I just don't think it is the kind of plot I want to read in a time when there is so much death around us. I am not sure why I am so troubled by this plot, but I guess everyone has there limits.
I bought the book for the narrator , as she is one of my favorites. I wish she would read other authors more often.
Maybe this plot would be okay in another time. I will stop now and go back to it at a later date.
