Great story, struggled with the narrator
This is a great story but I would recommend reading this book rather than the audiobook. The narrators inflections make it difficult to follow as there are constant inflections and not breaks that follow the grammatical structure.

Loved the story
I loved the story as far I could listen and then the ending. BUT Emily Beresford is the worst narrator I have ever listened to and have over 400 books in my audio library and I have listened to many more. Sorry I had to say this but wanted to warn others.

I recommend reading this one.
I always love Susan Sleeman books and have listened to most all of them. I am only in the second chapter of this one and I am struggling to continue. It's not the story; all of Susan's books are great. It's the narrator. She's reminiscent of the overly dramatic narrators of old black and white TV shows ... "stronger than a locomotive, faster than a speeding bullet..." It makes me wonder if the authors actually sign off on the narration, or if they're solely the choice of Audible.

couldn't listen to nine hours of this narration bought the Kindle version and enjoyed the written version don't recommend the Audible version.
