The archetypal occult detective
80 years before Fox Mulder (X-Files) and 60 years before Carl Kolchak (Kolchak: The Night Stalker) and before Seabury Quinn's Jules de Grandin or Manly Wade Wellman's John Thunstone there was William Hope Hodgson's Thomas Carnacki. Arguably one of the first occult detectives, Carnacki used a more scientific approach to the investigation of “hauntings.”
Contents include:

2 – The House Among the Laurels
3 – The Whistling Room
4 – The Horse of the Invisible
5 – The Searcher of the End House
6 – The Thing Invisible

Carnacki, occult detective
This is a series of six stories by William Hope Hodgson. The stories relate the tales of Detective Carnacki who investigates mysteries of the occult. This book is expertly narrated by Ian Gordon and I loved each of them. If you are a fan of Kolchak: The NIght Stalker, then I'm pretty sure you will enjoy these. None of the stories are a long listen so you can devour this all at once or take it in bite-size chunks.

Missing stories
Good performance and top notch stories. The description did not tell which stories were in the collection. The omission of Ye Hogge was a cardinal sin to me, my favorite Carnacki tale.

Absolutely captivating
Carnackis bravery, English tenacity and hilarious admissions to his freaking out and running are a mental image that transports the listener...I would LOVE to see a blueprint of the electronic contraptions he builds for his investigations. I dare to say they probably work better than spirit boxes😂😂Great Job Ian!
