Publisher's Summary

Joshua Sinclair was once the fiercest and most notorious warrior of the mighty Sinclair clan of Northern Scotland. But now there’s nothing and no one that can make him take up arms again. Except a beautiful woman, it seems.

When Kára Flett, daughter of a fallen Norse chief, finds herself unexpectedly sheltering the strongest, most brutal warrior in the land, she throws together a risky and outrageous plan to bring him to her side. Threats of violence bounce right off him. Offers of gold seem to entice him even less. Desperate enough to use the pleas of the village children to sway him, she’s shocked when he’s completely unmoved. There’s only one tactic left for her: seduction.

Her hasty proposition falls completely by the wayside, though, as she and the Highlander come together in a carnal inferno. But bringing him into her life also brings his enemies to her clan’s doorstep - the very clan Kára is trying to protect. And as their feelings deepen, Joshua will have to decide between duty and love once and for all.

Awesome

Love the creative plot idea for this series, with well developed characters created to instill fear in their enemies. Timothy Campbell always does a stunning job with his amazing vocal talents as narrator in the audio book format. Excellent creative writing once again from the very talented Heather McCollum. Don't miss out on this one. 😍

Too much smut talk for me.

If I were to sum this book up in one word I would call it raunchy. The story got lost in the constant deviations into smut. Too bad cause it was unnecessary. It distracted from what could have been an interesting story line. Narrator did a good job.

A great read!

I was surprised at his much I enjoyed this book. It’s moves along at a good pace. The storyline is interesting and seems historically correct, although I am not a historian. But I love the verbiage. The narrator is excellent using a strong voice and good inflection. I was happy to hear in this audio book that the love-making while hot, was also tender. It was not graphic, but still leaves you breathless, and it was not the focal point of this love story. I recommend this book.

Love the historical notes added

Something I really appreciate about historical fiction is when real history is worked in and/or altered but explained at the end. It leaves me to think back and ponder how realistic or plausible the plot was or was not.
Overall this book was interesting and dramatic with a nice romance thrown in. There were so many troubles/problems that every time one was solved, I expected the story to end, only to see there were still 4 hours left in the book. It almost made me want to quit because it was so long. But I would recommend this one for anyone who enjoys historical romance.

Another hit in this series!

The second book in The Sons of Sinclair series - Highland Warrior, by Heather McCollum was just as enjoyable as the first.
Well written, great plot and characters with whom I quickly fell in love. The story kept my interest to the very end.
Of course Timothy Campbell is such an awesome narrator and he made the experience doubly good. Can't wait for book number three!! Highly recommended.

Excellent story

The performance was excellent and the story heartwarming. The narrator has a great voice but a female voice for the women would have been a bit better.

Great Story and Symbolism

This story was well developed. The author's use of symbolism brought the time period to life.

I Loved this Book

This 2nd instalment of the series was as good as the first. I've no idea where Heather McCollum gets her ideas but I'm so pleased she puts pen to paper.
I'm off to listen to the 3rd book & I'll be so disappointed when I get to the end.
I would definitely recommend it

more than just romance

book 2 was a nice suprise. Joshua was a bit of a tyrant in book 1 and I wondered how Ms McCollum was going to write him in to be a hero, suitor and likeable to the listener.
well she did it. with some twists and turns and past life experiences that joshya went through I learnt and warmed to the horseman of war.
i enjoyed the excerpts at the start of each chapter as it kept me mindful of who Joshua was supposed to represent.
the heroine is awesome. she has strength, courage and brass!
the storyline was intriguing with some angst and turns.....a story you would only get away with In historical....
Tim Campbell is the bomb! his accent is perfect and he brings the characters to life. looking forward to gideons story but have to wait till next year and please Ms McCollum, give us bas's story😊😊🤞🤞🤞
