Publisher's summary

Julia has always longed to make her life count. She can hardly believe that she has ended up as an administrative assistant for an insurance agency. But when Jake walks into her insurance office, her life takes a drastic turn.

Is she crazy to join Jake in a remote village in Venezuela? And if she marries him, can she handle the kind of life she would have there? Will her journey into the jungle lead her into the life she always wanted, or will it be a tragic mistake?

Wrestling with God

Thought provoking and honest, Journey to Omwana, is the story of Jake, the son of lifelong missionaries, who has chosen the life of a missionary himself. Growing up as the child of a missionary, the harsh life in Venezuela doesn't seem remarkable to him. His mother (now ill and perhaps unable to return to the mission field) and father have returned to the states. While home visiting his parents, Jake meets Julia at the insurance office while taking care of some business for his mother. Every effort to find a wife and help mate to join him in the mission field has thus far failed . . . but Julia has always felt that God has a special plan for her . . . Journey to Omwana is a story of trusting God's plan, or FEARING God's plan, of wrestling God for control . . . of running from God . . . things that all of us that love the Lord have done . . . because nothing of worth is attained easily . . . and humans, well, we are a stiff necked people . . . but we are HIS people . . . this is a refreshingly, open and forthright look at what happens when we hear God's call and follow . . . of how He walks with us through the unknown . . . how He sends those to us to encourage us . . . and how our only real HOME is in Him . . .
