Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Damien Echols presents an unabridged audiobook of the spiritual practices that helped him survive and transcend his ordeal on death row.

At age 18, Damien Echols was sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit. “I spent my years in prison training to be a true magician,” he recalls. “I used magick - the practice of reshaping reality through our intention and will - to stave off incredible pain, despair, and isolation. But the most amazing feat of all that practice and study was to manifest my freedom.” With High Magick, this best-selling author shares his first audiobook on these powerful spiritual techniques.

Though modern culture has consigned “magic” to fiction, stage illusions, or superstitions about witchcraft, the magick Damien learned is an ancient Western tradition equal to the Eastern practices of Buddhism, Taoism, and yoga in its wisdom and transformative power. Here he brings you an engaging and highly accessible guide on how to bring magick into your own life, including:

  • What is High Magick? Damien clears away the stigma and reveals the history and core teachings of this extraordinary art
  • The Four-Fold Breath - a foundational meditation practice to train your mind and body to channel subtle energies
  • The Middle Pillar - how to bring divine energy into the central channel of your body for empowerment and healing
  • The Qabalistic Cross - a centering technique to help you stay balanced and protected regardless of circumstances
  • The Lesser Rituals of the Pentagram - powerful ceremonies for banishing negative energies and invoking energy to manifest your goals
  • Working with angelic beings and thoughtforms
  • Guidance for overcoming your doubts, enhancing your visualization skills, creating talismans, practicing magick ethically, and much more

“Magick is a journey,” writes Damien. “It’s a continuously unfolding path that has no end. You can study and practice magick for the rest of your life and you will still never learn everything that it has to teach you.” If you’re ready to discover your untapped potential for co-creating your reality with the energy of the divine, then join this extraordinary teacher to begin your training in High Magick.

EXCELLENT Book on High Magick

Like the author, I am self (and spirit) taught. People have asked me over and over for instructions on how to get started with the magical approach that I've used all my life, but writing about it was just not where I was at. Now, I have a book that I can refer folks to. I love the audible version the best because then I can focus all my brain power on paying attention to the concepts. I love his voice. And I love the way he, like I, tells folks that there isn't anything hard about it. This book makes it possible for folks to learn by doing and see for themselves how following the magical approach to life is rewarding and fun. More and more, you will connect with what I call "the Universe" or "the energies." Get this.

This Book Can Transform Your Life

The story in this book is very inspiring, and the exercises themselves can change your life. It is presented in a way that is easy to understand. There is so much helpful information in this book. I've been practicing yoga and meditation for many years, and this is one of the best books on energy work that I've ever read. I highly recommend the companion audiobook:

Excellent!

This book actually exceeded my expectations. I wish I had stumbled upon it a few years ago. I think this is a wonderful starting place for those wanting to learn Magick of any sort, but especially for High Magick, obviously. Mr. Echols also has a very inspiring story of Perseverance and Hope. Well done, Damien Echols; Thank You.

Slapdash

I have been a student of the Golden Dawn teachings, practical Magick, and the Qaballah/Kaballah for many years, and overall I find the context of this book, as far as I have read it, to be pretty good. However .... I would think that when an author cares about his product, and decides to read his own book, he would take the trouble to check how words are properly pronounced. Many of the terms come from Hebrew, and due respect should to be given to their correct utterances. I can't listen to another moment of the ear-bashing Kwaabalaah ... really? That's what Echols says. Reminds me of nothing more than a frog croaking, and i lose track of what he's saying completely. It would have been so simple for him to ask a Hebrew speaking person or simply go onto You Tube, it's all there. K-a-b-a-ll-a-h. There is no Kwaaa. Or even Quaaa. Same goes for the names of God and the angelic names. Pathetic pronunciation. I understand that he is apparently self taught from books in prison, and I have respect for that, but he's no longer there, and should have done due diligence before reading his own book and foisting it on listeners. How can an author destroy the integrity of his own work so badly? I'm done with this one, I find it unbearable. Anyone wishing to study from his book, please research pronunciation before adopting his.

Audio does not work properly

Having issues with the audio. It's a shame because I like the fact that Damien is the narrator and was looking forward to reading along with him.

Fascinating

The author explains beautifully . A wonderful voice. He is intelligent and clear. Love his non preaching approach of simply sharing what has worked for him , which is huge in his case , a life of indescribable suffering and injustice to surviving. A beautiful human being.

Excellent Book

Pleasure to listen to, concise information without all the new age mumbo jumbo or difficult, verbose scripts of certain orders.
Will definitely return to this audio many times over as it is a valuable goldmine of occult knowledge that is easy to access and absorb.
