Publisher's summary

Rebecca Carson was used to the high society of Philadelphia. Not the rough land of the West. Nor the men it created. When she arrives at her brother's ranch, she discovers him missing and the ranch falling apart. Her only chance is to convince Dusty Rhodes to become her foreman. She needs him if she is going to fight the rustlers, the desert, and a greedy banker.

Dusty Rhodes never understood high-toned women. But Rebecca Carson, the sister of his boss, is particularly difficult. Everything about her is disturbing. And now she needs him to help save her ranch. He had never been anything more than a saddle tramp, a wandering man with an itchy foot and an urge to see what was over the next mountain. But now he must assume responsibility for others. He must do what needs to be done regardless of the consequences.

Jilted Bride Flees West to Find Missing Brother

Upper class Easterner, Rebecca, has been jilted at the alter so she flees West to her rancher brother's place, only to find him missing. Clean, plot driven, predictably entertaining. Good narration, but characterization portrayal of women's voices could be better.

Hero's name is Dusty Rhodes....dusty roads...in a book with a long Western travel narrative...haha.

A Fun Action-Packed Western Romance

A clean, super-readable option for those seeking a light and easy read with a fast pace, good character development, and compelling romance and story arc. Really loved catching up with our favs from Book 1 and hope that trend continues into Book 3

Jilted and without financial options Rebecca trecks to Nevada to join with her brother John on his new beloved ranch. She accompanies the high-quality thoroughbred stallion who is to be the lynch point of their breeding program. From the first meeting with cowboy Dusty Rhodes throughout the non-stop adventures they shared from that moment you can imagine literal fireworks and not all romantic LOL. A stubborn cowboy, a stubborn lady, and a pampered stallion with his very own goat best friend set the scene for a rollicking and suspenseful tale. Out of the ashes (or should I say windstorm) of loss and restlessness, and the harshness of life and death in the West, a fresh sunrise begins to peek through the clouds.

If you enjoy an excellent western with great villains, quirky heroes, strong and resilient women, and a fun romance, you will love this story. Gus Farrar is a very well-suited narrator for this fun series.
