Fantastic Series Start!

Sadie and Donovan, Fated Mates? Sadie is a wolf shifter, young, strong sassy and ready to take on the world. Donovan is a human, or is he? There is just something about him, something lurking just below the surface, but the attraction between these two, well, there is no mystery there. Hidden Mate is a deliciously suspenseful and entertaining story that kept me listening late into the night. The characters are well drawn, engaging, well varied and interesting. The narration was beyond fabulous, making it so easy to become totally immersed! As the hours flew by I found myself beginning to feel strongly about these characters, longing for a happy ending for some and wishing a few would take a long walk off a very short pier! The overall experience was great and I can’t wait to get started on the next book in this fantastic series! Five fantastic well earned stars!

Good PNR with interesting story and fun characters

Sadie thinks getting away from her overbearing, Alpha father and the pack by going to college is going to be her key to writing her own path, even if she is forced to bring Brock, who is essentially babysitter sent by her father. But starting with the first day, things prove to not be so easy for her. An odd, unexpected, and unwelcome draw towards a human in her class puts her on edge. Then, as she meets more supernaturals on campus, other things start happening that put everyone on alert.

I love the blending of the supernaturals, wolf shifters, vampires, witches, etc. It always adds an interesting layer to the story to see how these different types interact and help or hinder each other. The relationship with Sadie and Donovan is complicated and definitely starts out on shaky footing, neither of them wanting to acknowledge the emotions that the other seems to bring up when their around each other. But as things progress, they realize they can’t deny what’s happening between them, something is pulling them together. The friendships that Sadie makes, the circle she builds around herself with them, starts to take on a found family vibe, and there are some fun banter and bonding moments between them as they try to figure out the vampire mystery on campus.

But Sadie’s father won’t stay on the sidelines long, and when Brock starts to really feel edged out, things start going from bad to worse. The book ends on a cliffhanger, with a good foundation for the series set up, and potential for a very interesting and great story yet to be told.

Sarah Puckett is an excellent narrator, and you really can’t go wrong with her voice as the main character. She is well skilled at bringing out a characters inner voice and emotions and taking a good book and elevating it.

This book is unique. Ive read/listened to a lot of shifter books and this one was really good. I loved that for once the male was the human and the female was the shifter in the relationship. There was so much happening in here and the more
I listened to the more that I wanted to know what was going to happen next.

I have always been in awe of Sarah Puckett’s ability to narrate and how much personality that she is able to give to each person in the novel. I am very excited to listen to the next book in the series.

A Fascinating Story & Beginning! Excellent 🎧📚🎧 i

This is a fantastic start to an amazing new series from a “new to me’ author who not only impressed me but she completely wowed me. Jen L. Grey is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and a creative mind, the story she created is original and imaginative, filled with equally imaginative characters who are easy to relate to and connect with. This first lays down the foundation for the rest of the series, the world building is phenomenal and I am looking forward to find out what happens next and watching the characters grow and come into their own. Sadie is a wolf shifter attending an elite college where most students are humans, but it is known in the paranormal community that others of their kind attend that school, too. The shifters and other paranormal beings hide what they are from humans, but they can sense each other and what type of paranormal being they are, ie vampire, shifter, Fae and so forth. Sadie is the Alpha’s daughter, not just any alpha but the leader of the strongest pack, he never treated Sadie right because she was born the wrong sex, he looks down on females because they are the weaker sex, heck he looks down on everyone below him including humans. He is power hungry and plans on arranging a marriage for Sadie with the son of another pack to widen his rule. Problem is the guy he chose, Brock, is an arrogant jerk, and she wants nothing to do with him. Brock follows her to school to watch over her, she goes along with him to keep her father happy and off of her back. But when he wants to date her, so she has to get him to not want her. Plus, she is interested in someone else, though she pushed him away for his own safety. Donovan and Axel were not the friendliest to Sadie and her bestie, Roxy at first, but Donovan lightened up, still waiting to see what happens with Axel, hopefully in the next book. I liked the mystery of who those two really are, humans who grew up in the system, but not all is what it seems, or who. There are some great secondary and support characters too, including Egan, a dragon shifter and the two vampires, Lillith and Katherine, who friended Sadie and Roxie. This is a fabulous paranormal fantasy novel, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some action, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance. Jen L Grey, thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to what comes next for these amazing characters.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sara Puckett’s talent knows no bounds, she has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, gives each a voice that fits the character’s persona to a tee, sounds believable in every role she plays and just as I pictured the character to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, handles the back-and-forth dialogue with ease, and never misses a beat. You could hear how much heart she puts into his work as she captures the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

not your average shifter book.

I was hesitant to start another wolf shifter book. this one was completely mind-blowing. I loved the twist. I love the story. I give this 4 stars all the way.jumping into book 2 as soon as possible.

Hidden Mate

This is the first book in The Wolf Born Trilogy. I really love the direction this first book went. Sadie is the FMC and is the head alpha's daughter. In most shifter books that would make her a very powerful female in the pack. However her father is a horrible being. His look on power and weakness is so corrupt. She goes off to college and is instantly drawn to a human. she tries to stay away from him for his safety. It's funny how fate can change everything. Can't wait to see where this series continues. Sarah Puckett did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Addicted

Once again Jen does not disappoint with another book that promises to be a great series. Vampires, shifters, magic, twists, adventure and action. Love it!

Shifters and more

I love supernatural creatures and this story has a bunch of different types. I really loved the wolf shifters and their dynamics. There were some intense twists and turns which I adored. I can’t wait to listen to the other books in the series since this one was a blast. There’s also hesitance about the Noms and characters fight it. This is definitely a great start to a series and if you like wolf shifters you’ll love this series.

What do think happens when you are grown up to despise humans, well only that he is her fated mate. She fights the bond, but you'll have to listen to this book to see if she caves and gives in the the bond.

This was a one day listen

I had to finish this one in the one day it was so good. The characters are fantastic and the twists and turns had me guessing the whole time. Cant wait to see what happens next

learning who you are

I love how Sadie is handling all that she going on in her life! This story was very fast pace with tons of twists and turn and you don't know what will happen next. I can't wait to see what happens next in this great series! I love the great story Jen wrote and Sarah did a great job bring story to life

Sadie finds herself drawn to a "human" and no matter what she does to protect him the feelings are mutual. She learns that Donovan is more than human.

Another Great start of a series by Jen.. Lots of twists and turns as the plot thickens.. brilliant narration too.
