MUST LISTEN TO

I first learned about Hermeticism and Hermes Trismegistus in my philosophy class in university. We didn't spend much time with Hermeticism, yet it was enough to cover some basic ideas of Hermetic Philosophy. This audiobook will allow the listener to dive in deep with Hermeticism and Hermes Trismegistus. In history, Hermes was renowned as the Greek god of interpretive communication and the Egyptian god of wisdom, Thoth. Through these writings one can listen to the ideologies of bringing together the divine with the mortal matter. Anyone interested in expanding their perspectives in philosophy and spirituality should get this audiobook.

Narrator makes this un-listenable

It is clear that this narrator isn't familiar with a lot of the words and phrases used in this collection. He hesitates before reading terms of jargon and places incorrect emphasis throughout the book. The poor narration is extremely distracting and causes the central ideas in the book to be conveyed unclearly or not at all.

I paid for this audiobook with money instead of a credit, so unfortunately I am unable to return it (which is a terrible return policy and I'm considered cancelling my years-long membership because of this). If narration is something you care about, please skip this version and check out at a physical book or a narration on a different platform instead.

Philosophical genius

Although I was at first intimidated by even the title of this collection, I dove in, listening with a careful ear, as the narrator filled my mind and heart with wisdom. As a beginner with little knowledge of Hermes' philosophies, I had to take this book slowly, ingesting the words carefully and thoughtfully. The beautiful thing about this audiobook is that I could pause the narration when I needed to ponder the teachings further to allow them to infiltrate my mind. As complicated as some of the topics may be, this was an amazing introduction to the truths and principles of Hermeticism, which, as I understand it, have laid the foundation for modern science.

I had wanted to learn more many years before, but honestly, I do not think my mind was in a place in which I was ready to receive the wisdom and knowledge it contains. I am so thrilled to have found it now because my mind and heart were open and willing to receive it.

Mind Opening

Revealing but it leads you to search from within rather than find more ancient articles that would probably say the same stuff already presented here.
