Not for training herding dogs

Almost immediately, I wish I could return this book. This book is for raising a dog of the herding dog breed to be a pet. It does not teach you how to train your dog to herd cattle or sheep. I was looking for the latter, and wasted my money on this book.

That said, the book does a decent job of teaching a new owner the essentials of raising a dog as a pet. However, the book relies heavily on Alpha dog techniques which have become controversial.

It is entirely narrated by an AI, so there are some minor distracting errors, but they do not detract much from the quality of the book.

Overall, I think the book was pretty good, but it does not teach you how to train a dog for herding.
