Publisher's summary

"What a delight to discover Samantha A. Cole's Malone Brothers! I devoured this book and am amazed to learn this was her first novel - ever. I'm reading the second book now and am going to be watching for more of Samantha's brand of sexy romantic suspense in the future!" (USA Today best-selling romance author Kallypso Masters)

KC Malone is on a four-week leave from the navy when he arrives at his uncle’s beach house to find a beautiful woman pointing a gun at his chest. What the hell has he just walked in on?

Moriah Jensen is on the run from dirty cops and ruthless drug dealers. Fleeing Chicago after her family was murdered, she spends the next four months trying to stay alive. Using an alias, she bounces from town to town, state to state, struggling to stay steps ahead of the people chasing her.

As the two become reluctant temporary housemates, KC offers to train Moriah to defend herself against an alleged abusive ex-boyfriend. But when her past catches up with her, Moriah has to decide between her love for KC and running for safety. To stay would risk both their lives. To run would mean leaving her heart behind.

Two strangers have a chance meeting and fall in love!

KC is a Navy Seal who comes home for a much needed leave only to find a stranger in his uncles beach house. Moriah is on the run and can’t trust anyone. They end up sharing the beach house and the sparks start to fly.

I really liked this book it had lots of chemistry and suspense. I have enjoyed all the books I have listened to by this author and hope she gets some more out on audio soon.

Men are like cabs

With the book only 200 pages it would take a lot to get to 5 stars. Overall I think it will be a nice series. very light on the steam compared to the author's Trident series. I hate age gap and with KC 35 and Moriah at 25-26ish it's close to my ick limit. What really bothered me was the narrator portrayal of Moriah. His voice made me think of her as a whiny, annoying, and very young. Im not sure if I would have gotten the same impression if I read instead of listened to the audio but since I hated the h it was only 3 stars.
I couldn't get this book out of my head and I finally figured out why. This quote fits KC to a tee.
“Men are like cabs, when they are available their light goes on. They awake one day and decide they are ready to settle down, have babies, whatever, and they turn their light on. Next woman they pickup, boom, that' the one they'll marry. It's not fate, its dumb luck.” – Miranda, Sex and the City

Looking forward to Sean, Brian, and Uncle Dan's books

Sometimes, you have to trust others for help!

Young woman running for her life, from drug thugs, who had already killed her family.
Luckily, she trusted a kindly old man, and rented a beach house he had.
However, he didn't say anything about his hunk of a nephew that wanted to crash, very late one night.
Okay, a lot more to the tale, but you need to listen or read it, for yourself.
The narrator did a fantastic job of reading this book, adding a further umph to a knockout story.

Loved it

On the run, Moriah thinks she is safe staying at a beach house far away from the man who murdered her family. That is until KC, who is on leave from the military, shows up at his family’s beach house for a month long leave. What starts out with hatred and apprehension ends up as desire and love. But will her past come back to haunt her and lead her to run again? Or will KC and his brothers catch the bad guy and allow her to regain her life? With beautifully written characters, perfectly chosen narrators and storyline that keeps listener on the edge of their seat this is another perfectly book. Once again Samantha A. Cole does not disappoint.
