Publisher's Summary

Fourteen years after her abrupt departure, Samara Davis is back in Marietta, Montana. Now a widow, all she wants is to give her anxious four-year old daughter, Jade, a happy, stable home. Unfortunately, the heritage house she purchased is nowhere near ready for occupancy. And the man responsible for the delay is none other than high-school golden boy and love of her life Logan Stafford, available, interested, and just as swoon-worthy as ever.

But this single mother has one priority. She’s all Jade has, and she’ll do anything for her child’s future. And getting distracted by a long-lost boyfriend is not on the agenda.

Logan Stafford never forgot the lonely girl from the wrong side of the tracks who broke his heart. Not only is she as irresistible as ever, but her delightfully odd little girl has him wrapped around her finger in no time. Believing they’ve been given a second chance, Logan’s determined to pull out all the stops on the house to prove to them both that he’s a guy they can count on.

But, despite how easy it is to love Logan, second chances are still gambles Samara can’t afford to take.

ok. but not the best

Sweet little second chance romance. No detailed sex, a little humor and a very uptight mother at her wits end. It was ok.

Good HEA

The story was pretty good and different from most romances I've read. Love the supporting characters. My only quibble with the narration is the southern accent in Montana. Besides that the narration was wonderful - Jade was extremely well done.

It touched my heart and soul. Worth reading. I’m happy I decided to take a chance and spend my credit on it.

kind of a struggle

I wanted to like Samara, I really did. Being a single mom myself I normally have no problem connecting with another. Unfortunately she just comes off as an extreme helicopter mom and a basket case wackadoo. Logan was great. I kept thinking he should run for the hills. 😬 The most positive thing about the book was the performance.

DNF

This was excruciating!! I made it 1/2 way through, but I just cannot!! Aside from Logan, I don't like most of the characters and moreover, don't care what happens to them. This story is not for me!

Good story

Great story narrator was great. The problem is is it went by too fast. Wish there was more to it, but it was a good book. I’m glad I read it and I recommend it.
