Publisher's Summary

Trust no one when your daughter goes missing.

On a frigid winter morning near her cabin, Ava Galbraith’s four-year-old daughter vanishes without a trace in the snow. Local sheriff, Mallory Anderson, focuses his initial investigation on Ava and her estranged husband, Gordon, embroiled in a bitter custody battle. But when Ava receives a ransom demand for half-a-million dollars, the race to find four-year-old Melanie takes on a more ominous tone. With the FBI on board, disturbing secrets begin to emerge connecting both Ava and her husband to a murky past. A remote cabin in the woods may hold some desperately needed answers, but time is ticking down to complete the ransom drop-off and save Melanie from the one person who wants her dead.

Who is the real mastermind behind the abduction?

Her Last Steps

Her Last Steps is the first book by this author for me. I very much enjoyed this and her writing. Story was full of twists and turns that I honestly didn't expect. I will keep an eye out for more by N.L. Hinkens. The narrator did a great job. She has a pleasant voice.

Lots of twists and turns

The premise of this novel was interesting. If you like a suspense story with lots of twists and turns, you might enjoy it. I would have liked a bit more character development at the beginning before the mystery started. At times, I felt the story was bogged down by too many complications and too many characters with ulterior motives.

This was the first Audiobook I’ve listened to narrated by Julie Niblett. She did a good job. I would have appreciated a bit more distinction between female and male characters.

I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Edge of your seat suspense

This psychological thriller is a web of deceit, lies, corruption, lots of twists turns with a little girl as the initiate.
I enjoy stories that make you think, figure out the angle, the why’s, or the reason for someone’s rationale this story has that in the storyline.
I was gifted this audible book for a fair and honest review and hope to listen to more along with the narrator Julie Niblett who brought these characters to life.

My first time reading a book from this author. I would definitely recommend this book. Has the right amount of suspense. Did not see it ending the way it did but glad it ended that way.

Awesome story

I listened to this book in one day. Awesome story couldn’t figure out why the mom did what she did but it all came together in the end. Dad and grandma were evil but the policeman’s wife!!! Was the worse. All the players in this story. Just wow.
I received this free for an honest review from the author or narrator.

Great thriller with lots of twists and turns

I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. I finished it within a few days! The story is about a couple whose little girl goes missing and their struggle to find her. There were lots of twists and turns and you are left wondering what will happen next right up until the surprising twist at the end. The narrator was good and portrayed different characters well. Would recommend this book and will look out for more from this author.
