Publisher's summary

An injured football star with an attitude, a feisty, dedicated nurse, and two weeks stuck together in a Denver mountaintop lodge.

Sara Lynch needs an escape from her mother's soap-opera life. When she gets a call from the nursing agency saying a confidential client needs care, it's the perfect opportunity to get the break she craves - two weeks in a mountain lodge taking care of billionaire and former football star Liam Thomas.

Since his football injury a year ago, Liam's life has consisted of nothing but his smothering sister and painful flashes of the accident that ended his career. When his sister takes off for a two-week honeymoon, he thinks he'll have his Denver lodge to himself - until she hires a nurse to stay with him against his wishes. He'll do anything to make the quick-witted nurse quit so he can brood in peace. After all, a relationship was the last thing he needed.

But the more time they spend together, the harder it is to ignore their growing affection. Now, they must decide to put down their fears and let someone in or keep up their walls and keep their hearts safe.

Good story

This was a good story without all the bad language. Finally glad Sara’s mother will be in jail where she belongs.

Overall 3.5 Stars

Because of its clean nature, the book stretches credulity occasionally. Her mother is a violent criminal but she never curses, saying something like “your sorry b*tt” and even though I don’t curse at all my mind automatically replaced it with a** because there’s no way you are a murderous alcoholic con artist who doesn’t curse.
Secondly, I tend to despise naive heroines. This one was bordering on that line between naive and misguided and finally she landed on the right side for me. There were several times I felt like screaming at her and the hero though. Kind of wanted to slap him.
Thirdly, I’m just gonna say it. What kind of dad thinks it’s okay to extract a promise from an EIGHT year old to take care of her mom. And this is supposed to be the good guy? Please.
There were some good moments and I liked when characters actually addressed things and were honest with one another. The last thing that stood out to me was that the voice actor sounded like the mean fiancée from the remake of Parent Trap so it took me awhile to think of the heroine as genuinely super sweet but we finally got there. Overall, fair to middlin’. I’ll try some other books by the same author.

Liam and Sara

A charming, sweet but at the same time frustrating romance. Liam and Sara are cute together, it took them some time to figure things out but when they did it was adorable. There are some twist and turns which made this story exciting and a little suspenseful. I enjoyed this book.

The whole storyline was amazing.

From front to back I liked the whole thing. It was nothing I like more than the other.

interesting plot aweful narrator

the narrator's male voice is god aweful, like really really bad. I think the story line is interesting so I'm going to stick it out even though clean stories aren't my thing. I just really wish they picked another narrator
