Hell World

Undying Mercenaries, Book 25

De: B.V. Larson

Narrado por: Mark Boyett

Four hundred degrees! Toxic atmosphere! Gravity beams that crush men in armor like beer cans! Welcome to Infernus.

Legion Varus assaults an alien stronghold that's too close to Mother Earth. The battle turns into a meat grinder that chews through soldiers faster than revival machines can spit them out again.

When enemy reinforcements approach the star system, the campaign becomes a race against time. Centurion James McGill must defeat the Demons and their minions before it's too late. He teams with old friends and old enemies. Robots, Blood Worlders, and Saurians join the fight in a grand battle on a deadly planet.

Then McGill meets the entity that is behind the invasion, changing everything…

Hell World is the latest action-packed entry in B.V. Larson's bestselling Undying Mercenaries series.

My Favorite Series Always Delivers

This had all the classic elements of why this my favorite series and my favorite author-performer team. We get the ever increasing stakes of planetary threats with looming consequences for humanity and McGill personally. Plus this particular book revisits our past favorite personalities and species and antagonists and love interests, all in fresh new ways. Great and satisfying story, plenty-difficult campaign, funny moments, all well told. My only nit is that I don’t think I ever picture the alien species very clearly in my mind or as intended. But that is offset by the world creation that somehow ever expands with novel planet environments and creative new species and escalating threats. This series always delivers and as I finish one I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Fun and entertaining

I like the characters. It is a good light-hearted distraction from the daily grind. I have been listening to these books for years.

Fine

This is my favorite active series. Maybe I am expecting too much from a series that has 25 books. But this one was probably the 2nd worst I have listened to. Now, that said, it is still a great book and worth the listen. I am just saying, when you have a magnificent series like this one, the bar is high. The worst book in this series is better then many complete series from other authors. This book just wasn't my favorite and I may only relisten to it once more when I do a relisten.

Interesting Characters and Unique Arc

I liked the interesting world building of “Infernus” and difference in the fighting tactics required.

Love the series

I have listened to all of this series and absolutely love the books. If you enjoy military science fiction then you will love this series
