Always an adventure.

I love this series of books. This one takes a different twist. Cork continues to have hear and justice. The narrator does pause in some spots but I love his voice and he is synonymous with Cork to me.

I liked that this was as much an emotional struggle for Cork as it was an another mystery to solve. Krueger wrote a mature well rounded
novel - suspenseful to the end.

William Kent Krueger is has a remarkable gift in developing characters and keeping them so human and believable. This book is well paced and deeply touching. Exciting, surprising gripping…wonderful!

Great characters. All human. Not all good people, but story line continues to unwind until the very end.

I love this series, but this one in particular draws you in. Krueger is a master at translating raw emotion through his writing.

New Setting for the Series

As a fan of WKK, I enjoyed this one for the second time.
Since I listen on my air buds, I did notice that there were some editing errors. Sighs, burps and other noises didn’t get edited out. It would be nice if that could be corrected. But even with that, I was intrigued with the storyline.

Prose and plot

Amazing story, good til the end. Highly recommend. Worth listening to. Looking forward to other books on the series
