couldn't finish

The narrator was so bad I just couldn't I tried on several different occasions to listen to it. I'm a teacher and I felt like one of my 3rd graders was reading. mispronounced words, no inflection, and I couldn't tell if the characters were speaking or that there were different characters.

Good story, REALLY bad narrator!!

Really liked the story, but the narrator was the worst I've ever heard!! I have over 1500 books and he was BAD. Ruined a very good story.

good story - not the greatest narration

Would I listen to it again: probably
Did the story keep me engaged: reasonably
Was I invested in the characters: mostly
What did I like about the story? good culmination of the series and the story is an interesting mystery.

This is the third book in the Private Eye series, and although contains enough information to be listened to on its own, is better enjoyed if familiar with the first two books in the series.
At 03/2020 Books 1 & 2 aren't available in audio.
In Book 1: Ray is the PI who longs for for his ex-partner and current police chief Liam.
In Book 2: Liam makes a move and Ray can't back out fast enough.
Book 3 is the culmination and Ray & Liam get their HEA.

I'm on the fence with the narrator. The characters have each been given their own voices and the inflections and intonations are OK and work to bring life to the characters, but at its intended speed, it was too slow for me and it couldn't keep my interest. I'm not a fan of speeding up audio's because some of the nuances of the narration are lost, once I changed the narration speed to 1.25 it was much better, but then some of the narration came through as flat and robotic.

Finally Their HEA

I haven't read the previous book, but what I listened to I've enjoyed immensely.
Two men, one a cop the next an PI and excop.
For 10 years they have been trying to find out the identity and catch the infamous SSK, and finally everything has come to a head. Only to find out his identity, a fellow cop in Liam's precinct.
During the investigation things escalate between Raymond and Liam, one step to what they both want and need, finally after the SSK was capture , Liam retire from the police department to live his with the man he loves and work along side him....

Well written book, and a must read from book 1 to 3.

An interesting story

First, a caveat: I didn't know that this was the third book in a series when I grabbed it, but nevertheless, once I knew it I still went ahead and listen to it. I was able to follow the story perfectly, but it's quite obvious that I would have had a better understanding of the characters if I had read the other two books first.

That said, I liked the story, and I found the storyline really interesting. But the narration... well, it was boring beyond words. No emotions, no ups and downs, nothing. And listening to the sex scenes was excruciating.

So, I will go back to the first book of this series and read the whole thing from the beginning but will try to avoid this narrator from now on.
