Publisher's summary

Of all Amun-Ra's children, it is Sekhmet who is most feared. She is one of his fiercest generals and known for her savagery on and off the battlefield. Yet the warrior who fights the hardest also loves the hardest, and when the end of the war is finally at hand, she is eager to return home to the man she believes is waiting for her. Betrayal strikes when she least expects it, reminding Sekhmet that while she may have her uses to the kingdom of Egypt, there are those who simply take her for granted.

If she's going to be treated as the cast-off daughter, the unwanted killer, then that is what she will give them. Sekhmet runs away and decides to become the feared goddess of Egypt's nightmares. When it seems that no one can stop her, it is left to a most unlikely god to show her that there is still some love left for her. Even a feared killer is worthy of love, and the gentlest of gods may yet calm the deadliest of storms.

Listen and enjoy the first exciting installment of the Daughters of Ra series!

Good story - Great Voice

I'm generally not a fan of audio books, but I'm trying to get on board with them since all my friends are raving about how that's the best/most convenient way to enjoy a book. In my reader's club, everyone was discussing this book because of how awesome the narrators voice was. They were weirdly too excited about it. I had to check it out and I figured, nothing lost, I'll try to enjoy an audio book. So having said that, story was nice, the voice was great, and overall great experience on audible! Cheers

Enjoyable, quick 2 hour listening

Not a classic like River God, but def as good as Cleopatra's Daughter....for those who have hunger for ancient Egypt and princess's who have the strength and rule of a true queen one will be entertained and even somewhat educated. If you want to experience Egypt in the raw, read Heart of the Sahara and see the ancient land as far more than a people of just pyramid builders. Enjoyed the dramatic narration as well, not used to audio books but listening to the narrator was like being taken out of your home and dropped down in front of the people she was describing. Corona epidemic is a good time to get used audiobooks for sure. Might stick to this format only.
