Publisher's Summary

From the ashes of his past rises an alpha ready to take what he wants.

Professional Dom Cedric Langston isn’t afraid to bring an omega to his knees, but he’s vowed to never let one into his heart. After a tragic event five years prior almost destroyed him, he can’t risk getting hurt again. With a prestigious career shift on the horizon, it’s safer to lose himself in work than to open himself up -

...until he runs headfirst into an omega who makes him never want to hide away again.

Twisted by cruel subservience at a young age, an omega exists ready to please.

Gabriel Lowe is free from the horrors of his past, but his heart refuses to move on. He’s lost his purpose, his place in life, and the man he thought would give him a family. The world is a harsh place for a broken omega, and when his rehabilitation therapy fails and he returns to the only family he has left, it gets harsher.

He’s told he will be entrusted to an alpha - a professional Dom whose kindness and compassion Gabriel can’t understand.

But when what should have been nothing more than a job ignites into blistering desire, Cedric and Gabriel are faced with a choice: cling to the demons of their past, or give in to what they’ve found in each other - a way to heal.

Heal is a BDSM omegaverse novel set following the events of Obey, Beg, and Stay. It features a stunning use for a frying pan, red-hot body piercings you won’t see coming, and two men who overcome almost insurmountable obstacles to make a family.

This novel alludes to sensitive topics some listeners may find difficult, including abuse, violence, and human trafficking. However, a happy ending isn’t only promised, it’s guaranteed.

Emotionally Beautiful

Heal is the fourth book in the His Command Series and is best read as part of the series (not as a stand-alone), especially as Gabriel is the brother of Adrian (from Stay).
Adrian and his mate Sterling, want to help Gabriel heal after his ordeal with the White Lotus Brothel. He is so emotionally beat down, they feel he needs the help of Cedric. Cedric is a professional Dom, who is willing to give his submissive everything they need (except his heart). But the more time they spend together, the more they find they are losing their hearts to each other, healing each other from their broken pasts.
This story is by far the most intense, but so emotionally beautiful story of the series so far! The writing flows in such a way that you find you can't put this story down - you want to know more of Cedric's and Gabriel's story! The characters in this entire series, but in this story especially have such a deep back story, are so well written. I love that we get to see characters from previous books - giving us a chance to see more of their journey.
The narration by Michael Pauley is exactly what I come to expect from him. He truly brings these characters and this story to life. This entire series is one not to miss and this is an amazing book to add to the series!!

Beautifully broken

This might be my favorite of the series. Gabe intrigued me from the start and his story is even more than I hoped for. Pauley does an excellent job bringing life to this book. A really great listen with just some minor inconsistencies.

Heartbreaking and redeeming story!

The narration was done beautifully. This book was an emotional roller coaster. It will break you in parts and then by the end you are SO happy it ended the way it did. It was just the right amount of angst and heat. Loved it in audio form!

Heartbreakingly beautiful!

I know going into this book that it was going to be emotional and OMG was it ever. Gabriel is a character that I just want to take all he has gone through and make him forget. However what I wasn't expecting was that Cedric has an emotional story that I just want to hug him so much. They both heal each other and they are so perfect for each other. Michael Pauley has brought all the emotions that this story brings. I just couldn't help but feel even more then if I just read this one. I love this one so much!!

A caring Dom at the right time

Gabriel Lowe has had a rough go of it. Ensnared in a sex trafficking ring at a young age, he trusted the wrong person and wound up being victimized repeatedly for years. Even when his time in the brothel ended, the nightmares continued. He was put in a rehabilitation facility, but nothing helped. Finally, in desperation, he reached out to his brother for help. Adrian wants to help his brother but he’s got a job, a husband, and a baby. He’s also not really equipped to deal with the intensive help Gabriel needs. If professionals failed, how’s a brother to step in and take over?

The solution presents itself in the form of Cedric Langston. Cedric is a professional Dom with a lot of experience under his belt. He’s young, I mean really young. Twenty-five-year-olds can be cocky, but sometimes they don’t have the life experience. Because of a heartbreak when he was younger, Cedric has a maturity that carries him. When presented with the opportunity to work with Gabriel, he seizes it. Initially he sees it as a stepping stone to something better, but he quickly begins to care for the damaged omega. Cedric is a champion of Omega rights, always believing in equality. When he learns of how Gabriel was treated, he’s incensed. When he sees an opportunity to help the younger man heal, he takes it.

Cedric’s tragic past is slowly explained and it hurt my heart – these are two damaged men, to be sure. It’s just that time has allowed Cedric to come closer to acceptance. But when danger comes calling, both men are drawn into a potentially lethal snare and they have to trust each other to survive. Have to work together to defeat evil.

There’s a lot of meat in this book for those readers who love damaged men who are trying to put their lives back together. Gabriel has some real self-esteem issues. When reflecting on his situation, he thinks: How was he supposed to take care of fixing his problems when he wasn’t even good enough to get Sir to stay?

Sir is Cedric, and he’s removed himself from the situation because he realizes he may not be what is best for Gabriel. Omegas have special needs and as empathetic as an Alpha might be, there are things that are even beyond their ability to tend.

In a moment of introspection between omega brothers, Adrian says: “I know how heartbreak feels. It’s hollow, isn’t it? Like the solid construct you thought would be the pillar for the rest of your life turned out to be made of cardboard and there’s a storm on the horizon.” Oh my God, I think that broke me a little bit. I wanted Gabriel to get his happy ending, but man, did he have issues to work through.

Previously, I listened to Ms. Scott’s Forbidden Desires series, written with Virginia Kelly. I loved that series because of the snarky dialogue and fantastical creatures. Heal is far subtler and deeper. Gabriel’s profoundly embedded need to please spoke to me. His desire to be cared for also appealed to me. BDSM as a way to heal what’s broken inside.

Michael Pauley is a fantastic narrator and I was happy to listen to another one of his brilliant performances. I hadn’t listened to the previous books in the series but wasn’t lost at all. I may, in fact, go back and listen to the others. Adrian’s story in particular. I have to say, I enjoyed this book a lot.

Loved It!

Michael Pauley does an amazing job of bringing this story to life. This is the story of Gabriel and Cedric, two broken men who heal each other with love. There is angst and pain here but also hope and joy. What an emotional journey. Gabriel and Cedric are perfect together.

Mending a Broken Heart takes time and New Love

I love Michael Pauley's narrations as he always does such an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. Piper Scott's His Command series is wonderful and this fourth book about young Gabriel who was stolen from the White Lotus at the time of the raid by a Master who is not truly worthy of the name. Alpha Cedric Langston also has a dark tragedy in his past and this mysterious Master is coming for them both. The truth will set them all free and justice prevails. New love emerges from the ashes and breaks the ties holding them back. Highly recommended for all lovers of Omegas and hot Alphas with MPreg and some BDSM thrown in for good measure.

Oh my heart 💓.....

Just a wonderful, heart aching, healing and beautiful story.

Piper Scott is just fabulous at writing tales that make you bleed and then heal you in a soul deep way. We’ve met Gabriel before in this series so I was eagerly awaiting his story. It’s harsh in parts, Piper Scott doesn’t shy away from the serious stuff so be aware and bring a few tissues. It’s also a true love story and shows the lengths that people go to to heal another.

Michael Pauley’s narration is second to none - I feel every heartbreak listening to him. A very well matched narrator for Piper Scott’s writing.

Lovely ❤️

Really good hurt/comfort story...

This was a great hurt/comfort book and it really made honor to its title, seeing as it was a healing experience for both Gabriel and Cedric.

My heart broke for Gabriel since we met him in past installments in the series, he went through so much at the hands of both Garrison and the man with no name and I appreciated that Ms. Scott didn't take the easy way out and had him completely healed by the end of the book. I really liked Cedric and I adored how he treated Gabriel. I can't really say this is BDSM, not even lite, more like somewhat kinky, and it was a bit of a slow burn, with a lot of going one step forward and two steps back but it was still worth the read.

While Adrian is still not anywhere close to being one of my favorite characters, at least he showed that he really cared for Gabriel and was willing to make an effort so Gabriel would be happy.

Michael Pauley's performance was out of this world and damn if I didn't get chills when he portrayed the man of no name.

Even if I would've liked a bit more closure in regards to this man with no name, finding out who he was and that he'd gotten tons of years in jail, I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the next one. Highly recommendable!

Emotional and Powerful

Wow! This is another powerful story from Piper Scott with themes of abuse, healing, and love. I have eagerly waited for Gabriel's story after he was rescued from the omega brothel. This story is painful, touching, and poignant. For all the pain and angst, there is healing and love, too, for both Gabriel and Cedric. I loved both these characters! There are harsh topics here, particularly abuse and sex trafficking, that may be difficult for sensitive readers, but this is a beautiful story, and if you pick it up, I promise you won't be disappointed by the outcome.

The narration was excellent. Mr. Pauley does an incredible job capturing the characters' emotions, and he really makes you feel their pain, pleasure, sadness, and joy.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily left this honest review.

A Slow Burning Addition To The Series

I have loved each and every one of the books in the His Command Series and was really looking forward to listening to Gabriel’s story after meeting him in book 3 Stay.
The pain and suffering he has gone through has affected him deeply and Cedric is just perfect for him, he’s known heartbreak and submission and is prepared to offer himself wholeheartedly to help heal Gabriel.
I have given 5 stars all round throughout this series except for this book and I have only dropped 1 star in the overall category grudgingly, just because it was a little too slow burn for my personal taste and had a low level of steam compared to the others. But the quality of writing and characterisation, was second to none.

amazing

sooooo amazing.. and sexy.. and hott.. and sad.. omg.. this series breaks you so much and just when you wanna go figure out how to hurt people for hurting your characters... they put them back together and give them so much love and happiness you are bubbling with it.. this narrator does that as well by putting a voice to those characters.. amazing
