Publisher's summary

Aidan Liam Cavanaugh is a pretentious name, not me at all, until you understand the meaning.

I play defense for the Boston Brawlers. Aidan means "fiery", Liam means "protector", and isn't that what you want your defenseman to be? The fiery protector of your team?

No wonder most women think I'm a clown and a player. I don't bother disabusing them of the notion since I hardly want to get serious.

Until Pink. Allie Pinkerton. Smart. Serious. Graceful. And a woman who wants nothing to do with the likes of me.

She's my teammate's wife's friend and f**k if one unlucky weekend we don't get stuck dog-sitting. Together. On an island. Nantucket to be exact.

And when I say stuck, I mean stuck. As in a hurricane bearing down on us.

The only thing I want more than to make it back to Boston for the season opener is to stay put on the island with her....

They call me Pink—or at least my friends do. And some annoying non-friends. Like Aiden, the overly-muscled jokester of the Boston Brawlers hockey team. I'm not exactly a fan—of hockey or him.

I shouldn't stereotype, but he hasn't shown me anything to make me doubt his role as the MVP of up to no good.

Until that dog-sitting weekend. And damn if my appreciation for his hot muscles doesn't override good sense....

But we both need to get back to the mainland when the hurricane hits, endangering us, endangering everything we thought we knew about ourselves. And most of all, endangering our hearts.

He Has MVP is an enemies to lovers stranded together hockey romance. This full-length novel can be listened to as a stand-alone. If you love sizzling sports romance, hot hockey players, and those stories about two of the most unlikely people falling in love, then you'll enjoy this one! (Contains sex and language for mature audiences.)

good listen

Pink (Allie) is focused.on work with no time for dating or even recreation. She closes herself off to fun to get her new business off the ground. She has a specific goal in mind and won't give up. Aiden is a player. I love watching him change from his player ways, knowing all along what is happening but not really accepting it. I really like the way their relationship progresses with her snark and his show of confidence when he isn't really so sure. I love their enemies to lovers and their forced proximity aspects of the story.

Packed with excitement

A shorter story packed with excitement. This brought Pink and Aiden to the front. They babysit the dogs of the couple from the last book. I enjoyed the feistiness and banter between the characters. I listened to this on audio. The narration is well done and made for easy listening.

Quick listen

For my first book in this series, I felt the characters could've used a little more development. However, it is only a 3 hour audiobook so there wasn't a lot of time to develop the characters. This is an enemies to lovers story with a twist involving the weather and a dog.

This is a new author for me and I have another one of her audiobooks that I'm looking forward to listening to. It's always hard to judge an author on a novella since they are so short.

Both narrators were new to me. Amy Hall and Christopher Anthony sounded good and I'm curious what else they may have narrated. I'll be checking them out to see what else they have done.

Enemies to Lovers

A decent standalone book. I would have liked to see more relationship development between the characters. There are a couple of explicit scenes so if that's not your thing, skip it. Although the H is a hockey player, there was no hockey in this book because of the setting.

3 star listen

Really short, I would recommend not starting with this one like me.

Gifted audio, there’s little to no talk about the hockey team or playing the game.

There’s a couple that are spoken about (captain and his wife) who the mmc and fmc are dog sitting for, that’s it.

For this reason and the fact that this book is really short I can only give it three stars.

cute short story

tropes - forced proximity.

It was a cute story of puppy sitting and then stranded together when a storm hit. Not gonna lie, I wasn't a big fan of Allie/Pink. Her work/career was the only thing that she talked about and it got super annoying.

Both narrators did a great job, I enjoyed listening to them.

3.5 stars

The story was good. I liked the conflicts and the way the characters interacted. I did have a hard time connecting with them though. The narration was good as well but I wasn't a huge fan of the male voice and detracted from the story for me.

Great narration team in a quick fulfilling story!

A great short listen with two new to me narrators. I loved their performances and the short story. I would have liked a bit more depth in the characters, but it was really fun. Can’t wait for more in the series.

Hockey and dogs!

You cannot go wrong with a sports romance that includes dogs! Aidan, player for the Boston Brawlers finds himself dog sitting not one, but three pups with Allie, better known as Pink. Accountant by trade, she has no room for the bravado of Aidan, but she will do what she has to for a friend. And Nantucket Island, where they are watching the dogs is just icing on the cake. Beautiful until a hurricane is coming through. Now stuck together, Aidan and Allie have to manage the pups, themselves and then Aidan has to get back for practice! Fantastic banter, this enemies to lover romance is a breath of fresh air. An fun plot, and a love of animals had me hooked and wanting to see how it all played out for these two.

Amy Hall and Christopher Anthony bring this quick listen to life. Hall is spot on with her portrayal of Pink. Very regimented and in need of structure, we could feel her conflict with the likes of Aidan. Aidan is a little more playful and easy going and it comes out full force with Anthony's performance. These two gave us a wonderful narration and it was a pleasure to hear them.
