From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a heartwarming Kentbury novella about second chances, healing, and love that grows in the most unexpected places—just in time for harvest season.

I came to Kentbury to recover.

A heart attack has a way of forcing you to slow down, even if you’re not ready.

My family insisted I take a break from my relentless life in Boston, dragging me to this small town where the only thing on my to-do list is co-chairing the Pumpkin Festival.

Simple, right?

Then I meet Meadow—an artist with fiery red hair and a smile that feels like sunlight after a long storm. She’s juggling a gallery opening, family obligations, and town festivals, making it all look easy. But in her eyes is a woman who knows what it’s like to carry too much.

What starts as awkward small-talk turns into long hours together, decorating pumpkins, and stealing glances. Suddenly, Kentbury feels less like a detour and more like a place I don’t want to leave.

But life back in Boston waits for me, and it’s only a matter of time before I have to go. The question is—can I walk away from the first thing that’s made my heart feel whole in a long time?

This 5th book in Burgoa's Kentbury Tales series is another delightful romance that will capture your heart. I love returning to Kentbury for the warmth, joy, community, and the allure of love. We finally learn more about Raffa when he unfortunately has a heart attack and his family talks him into recuperating with them in Kentbury. It's hard for this grumpy lawyer to slow down, along with other changes. But when he is talked into spending time with the beautiful art teacher, Meadow, co-chairing the local Pumpkin Festival, he can't say no. He never understood the allure of Kentbury, much less thinking that he would fall in love. But as he spends time with his family, and Meadow, and she begins to open up to him, he starts to want this life in Kentbury, and with Meadow. Meadow isn't looking for a relationship in her chaotic life, but Raffa helps her feel protected and worthy of love. She starts to open up to him, but what happens when it's time for him to go back to Boston? Will he leave her behind, breaking her heart for good? Raffa and Meadow were opposites but were so perfect for each other, making each other lighter, stronger, and their chemistry is sizzling hot! I also loved all the supportive, quirky, and meddling family and friends who made this story even more entertaining.
Stephanie Németh-Parker and Austin Stone brought this heartwarming and sizzling story to life so beautifully. I really enjoyed their performances that made me laugh, smile and swoon all at the same time.

Fun, heartfelt and sizzling romance!

When Raffa has a heart attack at work, his siblings drag him to Kentbury. It's a small town in Vermont, where his father grew up and where his grandmother still lives. Yet, the family hardly knew the town. But two of the siblings have found great happiness and peacefulness there. So it seemed a great place to bring Raffa to recuperate, per doctor's orders. He owns his law firm and he's always concerned about it and his staff.

His grandmother assigns him to work with a local artist to coordinate the local Pumpkin Festival, which he's not very pleased about. But he does appreciate the beauty internal and external that Meadow exudes. But he's always planned to go back to resume his life in Boston.

This is a quick reading novella and it has some explicit sex scenes. But it's a very enjoyable read for people who love these types of books.

Updated to note that I received an early copy of the audio book. The narrators are great and each one performed several characters.
