Publisher's summary

I felt all wrong until I met you.

Jesse Stone is rebuilding his life. He’s ditched his no-good ex, sworn off men, moved to a new town with his four best friends, and started the pottery business of his dreams. And then he slept with his hunky new neighbor. Oops. Jesse needs to focus on work, but all he can think about is getting Finn between his hands like a perfectly-shaped work of clay.

Trouble just blew into town, and his name is Jesse. Finn Hart knows that pursuing Jesse will ignite old family tensions, but he can’t stay away. The construction foreman has never built a lasting relationship. He’s too busy keeping the peace in a town that was founded by one Hart, but is slowly being strangled by another - Finn’s grandfather.

Finn and Jesse are on the same page: they want to save Hart’s Bay, and it starts by bringing tourists in with Jesse’s new art gallery. But their hearts are bruised, and taking a chance comes with a price. Not everyone in Hart’s Bay wants change. For a few narrow minds, nothing good should come to Finn’s branch of the Harts, and that includes love.

Can love wash away 20 years of bad blood and bring a new dawn for Jesse, Finn, and all of Hart's Bay?

Hard Hart is the first book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It’s a stand-alone novel with a happily-ever-after ending, and plenty of smiles and steam along the way. If that cove could talk…oh boy, has it ever seen things.

Hot, hot and suspenseful

Hot hot hot!!!! You might not be able to finish listening to this after the first chapter melts your device. Sex on the beach in a secluded cove, oh yes. I really liked Finn and Jesse from the first even though we didn't know anything much about them during their first encounter. The author used that interaction to establish that they were both good guys by the way they asked each other for consent and all their actions indicated respect for the other person even in this thing they both were calling a "one time" thing. After that, I laughed every time we heard their point of view and they were still trying to convince themselves that it was much, much deeper. I did not expect to find this a suspenseful read, but all of the issues among Finn's family and how that was impacting the whole town was really interesting and eventually life threatening. I loved that the author didn't tell us everything at once but dropped bits and pieces as Finn needed to tell Jesse something, and how all that family intrigue affected Jesse and his friends getting the space for their art studio and gallery. The solution of the criminal acts against the gallery was not a surprise, but the way it was handled was. Evil thwarted is always satisfying. Greg Boudreax was a new narrator for me but he is wonderful. Some narrators try too hard to make an impression. This one sounds like real people actually talking to each other and I believed every character instantly and each character's voice was clearly delineated. Mr. Boudreaux goes right to the top of my list of narrators to follow.

Small town romance with all of the feels!

I really loved this first-in-a-series small town romance. Jesse and friends move to Hart's Bay and Jesse, fresh off a bad breakup and unsure of himself, is instantly attracted to Finn upon meeting... he doesn't feel ready for more than friends-with-benefits, but both he and Finn are feeling it all. There were just the right amounts of heat and steam for me, and a great story. E Davies writes beautifully, and I can't wait to read more in this series. Narration by Greg Boudreaux was brilliant; he, as well, will be on my radar. Highly recommended!!

WOW!!!!

Finn and Jesse are amazing together and all the intrigue of this small town will keep you attached to your ear buds. As they figure out their relationship, they also must deal with outside forces that are determined to keep them apart and the town in the exact same condition it has been in for years.

What a Hart Wants

Main Characters: Fin Hart/Jessie Stone

Fin is a man burdened by a terrible sense of responsibility. Believing that because he is a Hart that he has a duty to the citizens of the beautiful but declined town named for his family, Hart's Bay. He does what he can to improve the lives of those living in the city as do his part of the Hart family (referred to as "good Harts") but their efforts are constantly undermined by the "bad Harts" (Think Hatfields and McCoys except all within the same family it's brutal).

Jessie found the courage to leave an abusive relationship standing up for himself wasn't easy and he is marked by the relationship and has sworn that he will not be put in that position again. With the help of a motley crew of amazing friends he sets out to create a new life for himself. Life in a small town may be just what the doctor ordered but is the reclusive community ready for a gaggle of proud men to enter their city?

Fin meets Jessie and sparks fly but Jessie is determined not to be distracted by anyone, this is his life and he has to make it work, dependent on nobody...but maybe Fin is just what he needs a friend and possibly more. You can never have to many friends right? And passion...what is life without passion. Passion creates art and he is an artist so it's kind of job requirement and it's something that has been missing for so long. But will he get distracted by the power of this beautiful man with haunted eyes? Will Fin chase Jessie away when the family feud threatens Jessie's new life?

Listen to the melodic voice of Greg Boudreaux and find out. I personally cannot wait for the rest to come out. Greg is outstanding as always and E. Davies knocks this one outta the park.

You sculpt my heart with your love

So a new spin off from E. Davies and I’m a happy camper! I like his writing style because it has just the right amount of fluff, romance and steam. Now, onto reviewing.

Jesse has come to Hart’s Bay for a fresh start. And our protagonist has a pact with his friends and that is no relationship because they want to focus on their art. But you know pact and promises have a way of breaking easily because Jesse met Finn, a native Hart’s Bay dweller who’s just irresistible. To trust again for love or to preserve? Jesse has to make a choice soon.

This has good pace. Finn wants to save his town but he couldn’t believe that new people are actually coming to town. And Jesse wants the slow pace and leisure of a small town. They started off as f-buddies but they both knew soon that they wanted much more than that from each other. It was doing really well until the middle of the book when they started to doubt each other. Although it was resolved quickly, I personally think it was unnecessary. The feud of Hart family is rather complicated and messy but it was tied quite neatly in the end. Honestly, I just don’t care because Finn and Jesse were so lovely together. And this was very steamy! 🔥 Greg did an excellent job portraying the character.ls. Loved him to the moon and back. Looking forward to next books in the series.

Good story sprinkled amongst the sex

Good story sprinkled amongst the sex.
Likable characters, even the bad guys.
Good story.
Lots of sex scenes, perhaps a little too many. Sometimes more is just more. A little fewer would actually be better, more anticipatory, if you get my drift.
Excellent narration by one of my all time favs.

Excellent start to a new series!

I really enjoyed learning about this beautiful town and all of it's inhabitants. Jesse and his friends are definitely my kind of people and it made me wish I could move to that town and join their co-op. Finn and Jesse together were very hot and sweet with several swoon worthy moments. The majority of the small amount of angst in this story comes from outside sources which is a plus in my book because you don't have that all too common lack of communication between the main characters. Yes they had a couple of disagreements or moments that weren't perfect but they handled them very well in my opinion. I am definitely looking forward to the next story in this series and learning more about all the people in Hart's Bay. This story was so good that I have read it on my kindle and now have listened to it and loved it just as much the second time around.

Greg Boudreaux does an excellent job with the narration. I don't think E Davies could have chosen a better narrator for this series. Each character has its own voice and personality making this a very enjoyable listen.

Wish We All Could Have Friends Like This

A solid group of friends, artists, join together to rent a building for a studio to work in and gallery space to showcase their pieces.

I enjoyed the friends' interactions within the group and with the locals in town. An old family feud, though, is threatening to break the friendships the artists have made. Do they need to understand the feud to bring joy back into the town?

Narrator Greg Boudreaux excels at character personalities, and pinpointing key phrases to make the story one you will listen to again and again.
