My sister Juliet has always gotten everything she wants. It's fine though. I never wanted the spotlight. That was my sister's domain. And now that she's America's most popular starlet? She can have it.

But when Gran - the feisty woman who raised us, and who I cannot seem to wean off video games, an afternoon doobie, or her daily Manhattan - has a huge party to celebrate her 90th birthday, Juliet brings the Hollywood madness straight to Maryland.

In the form of my ultimate movie-star crush, Ryan McDonnell. I can barely form a sentence around the guy (at least I don't still have a poster of him on my wall). And I definitely can't get over the fact that he's Juliet's new boyfriend.

I just need to get through the weekend with them - and with the magazine people who are covering them and the party for a feature. I just need to stay away from Ryan and his warm curious eyes, his perfectly chiseled arms, and the impossibly sexy things that come out of his mouth when we're alone together.

It's only one weekend, and I just need to remember that Ryan is an actor. A good one. Because I almost believe him when he tells me we have a chance together.

Contains mature themes.

Ryan & Tess: this story was okay. I was really just here for whatever nonsense the grandmother might say because older people are freaking hilarious. sadly the story wasn't that funny, it was also a slow burn and I felt this female narrated worked my nerves. her voice is smooth and clear but every single breath she took, you could hear through the mic and it seemed like she took a breath every every minute on the minute. drove me nuts. the story was just eh.

eh. it was okay

I listened to this book after Juliet's so I was surprised by how different she was portrayed in this book than in her story. She does come across as selfish in this book but as misunderstood in her book. The narrative of this book overlaps well with the next except on the day of the party. No spoilers, but I don't think the events align quite right across the two stories.

As for this plot, the actor falling instantly in love with the sister of the woman he's fake dating and who's from a very different world is a great set of tropes. Just enough angst to keep the plot moving along.

As for the narration, I really didn't like the breathy quality of the female narrator.

story was fine. insta-love is tough for me to read sometimes. and for me, the female narrator sounded like my grandmother, so that kept taking me out of the story.

just okay

This is a nice story with fun elements. I really struggled to actually care about the Characters and what was going on. There are humorous moments in here and overall it’s a cute idea. I did listen to this on audio. The narrators did an okay job. Sorry I just cannot muster enough care to read the next in the series.

Nice story but Not memorable for me..

I wanted to like this story. It just lacked any depth. It was rushed and there was little background to each person for the reader to develop any understanding or connection. The male lead was weakly portrayed. The female lead made me dizzy with her back and forth. She was annoying to say the least. One minute she was passionately hopping on the stallion. Then she was insecure and acting like the ML was a jerk despite her knowing the circumstances from the beginning. She also treated him like he was stupid at times. She mostly came across as bitter and jealous. I was a bit confused by some of the story not following itself at times. The narrators weren't terrible considering the story they were working with. It was written like Cliffs Notes...a short summary of a larger story. I did love the chicken and her crush. That was actually comical. It makes me want a chicken.

Weak story
