Publisher's summary

Pax is the mysterious, faceless hacker the team turns to when their usual sources fail - and he likes to keep it that way. But when one of their information requests ends up with his bunker being raided by the cartel, they’re the only ones to whom he can turn.

Zeke Dempsey is raw, rough, and utterly unprepared for the lipstick-clad spitfire who suddenly bursts into his life, claiming both his heart and his dull knife. He always thought finding your true mate made the whole falling in love thing easy - he couldn’t have been more wrong.

Pax’s past hasn’t given him any reason to trust anyone, and just because Zeke’s his true mate doesn’t change that. Can Zeke unlock Pax’s fashionably armored heart amid the distractions of fighting the cartel, rescuing omegas, and meeting Zeke’s family?

Great Story!

I have really enjoyed this series from the beginning. I have been looking forward to Zeke's turn at finding his fated mate ever since he gave his brother and Boomer such a hard time. Pax definitely gives Zeke more than the handful that he deserves. At first I was really upset at how Pax treated Zeke and I wanted to throttle him but then I realized that I am exactly like Pax hahaha. The not wanting to be coddled and getting totally focused to the point of not wanting to be messed with, yea I can totally relate. I was glad to see the two of them work through it and find a good balance that worked for both of them. The way Zeke handles his side of things is remarkable in the face of what he is up against but he figures out a way to love Pax just the way he is. The narration was great, Colin Darcy has done an awesome job with this series!

Another great addition

Pax has been in the background as their hacker and friend of Jonah's. This time, Pax comes to them for help when he ends up raided. Now, Zeke realizes that he is his mate but their first meeting is not what you'd call a pleasant one. As these two figure out what their mating will be, they are also looking for more information on those that have been working against them and dealing with Zeke's family.

Zeke meets his match

I really love Pax. He is such a self-sufficient omega that has no issues putting his alpha in his place. I think it's great retribution for Zeke to get a mate that can take care of himself and seems to resent Zeke's need to provide. I especially love that Pax demands to go on their mission, despite the hazards. Be sure to listen (or read this book) before Stolen (book 5), as we meet Ezra's mate (and a blast from Jonah's past).

Colin started narrating the series with book 2 and is a great choice to continue. Hopefully, he will finish out the series.

I did overall enjoyed this latest addition.

I started off really hating Pax & felt that there was no reason for it. Yes he had some hard times in his past but really, come on! Okay, with that over, the story. Another really good addition to the series. Pax is a master hacker to the 9th power. I'm not sure if there isn't anything he can't hack into. But it appears that there is another hacker out there, working for the Cartel, who has hacked into Pax's system & tracked him. I'm curious on who that is, maybe it's Cain? We will find out in the next book. Zeke is one of the twins that gave Boomer such a hard time in the last book who didn't believe in the whole fated mate thing. So when it smacks him in the face, I wanted to laugh in his face. My how the mighty falls. But needless to say that Pax meeting his mate didn't take it very well is an understatement. Once Pax gets past his really nasty behavior, I loved him & these two together. They do find & rescue a shipment of omegas & that just broke my heart. While going back to the building to capture a hostage and blow up their operation, they do capture a hostage but it turns out to be a surprise on who it is. Also, during this Pax is pregnant with twins and where he ends up having them was awesome. I didn't care for Colin Darcy's voice for Pax but other than that he did a great job narrating this one.

Pax and Zeke come alive in this audio.

Learning to trust and love can be the biggest challenge of your life. Alpha/Omega and fated mates create an intriguing dynamic for these guys. Pax has no reason to trust or believe in love. When he finds that his mate is a big rough Alpha that often says the wrong thing, life gets more challenging. I love how the team and family helps support these guys as the work their way to love.

Zeke really redeems himself in this book and really is the best possible person he can be. I love how Pax learns slowly to trust and love and how amazing they are as they create the very own relationship.

Another good installment of Team A.L.P.H.A

I am fairly new to this series, but I have listened to books three and four now. This is good story that goes well with the Team A.L.P.H.A series.

Pax is a genius at hacking and computers. He lives his life in hiding, and does not have a desire to get close with anyone. When things go wrong, he must leave his safe place and look for his only friend/fellow hacker.

Zeke is an Alpha with a twin (Alpha), and a younger brother (Omega, who was just mated in book three). As soon as Zeke catches a whiff of Pax's scent, he immediately knows he has found his mate. However, the way he approaches the Omega puts Pax in an defensive mood. It is at this point that a pattern begins that will be seen constantly throughout the book.

As the weeks of morning sickness pass by, the MCs get closer. After this is when the team takes its second mission to a compound run by the mob. The first one was not prepared for in advance, but it went off smoothly. The second mission was planned to every detail possible, yet the unexpected happens, and they must abort the opportunity early.

Overall, I think this series, along with the spin-off series, Alphabits, are some of the best books I have read or heard by Susi Hawke.

The narrator did a fine job. His character differentiation is well done, and he makes the book show up in your head better than just reading it; just my personal opinion!
The one thing I didn't like was how most of the characters seem to speak very well, but others speak very disjointedly or haltingly.

Secrets of a Hacker!

Pax is simply fantastic! His sense of style mixed with his total distrust of all things government keeps these boys on their toys! Action and adventure and sexiness...perfect book!

Very Enjoyable

Very enjoyable audiobook. I really enjoyed Pax, whose omega status, like his sexual identity, is not defined by typical societal roles. He is strong, independent, and knows what he wants. He also thinks he is broken because of an abusive upbringing and a lack of decent role models. Zeke is a no holds barred, kick butts and ask questions later (maybe), kind of alpha, but he immediately recognizes the prickly Pax as his omega. I loved the love and patience he showed toward Pax, and how he wasn't afraid to ask his friends for help in dealing with his moods. Most of the story is focused on their relationship and just a little on the accompanying tale of rescuing captive omegas. It's a fun story and I love the ribbing the A.L.P.H.A. teammates give each other. I wish there was more actual story of the A.L.P.H.A. team missions, but this is a light-hearted, low drama story, and that's okay.

The narration is good, and the delivery is well-paced. The narrator seemed very familiar with the story and not like he was reading it. Very nicely done.

I received a free review copy of this audiobook, and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Great Listen!

I enjoyed this story when I read the book. Listening to the audio added so much flavor and depth to the story experience. Colin Darcy does a fantastic job of giving voice to and bringing to life all of the various characters in this story.

Loved It

I love this strong and sassy omega. Pax isn't one to fit in the stereotypical omega box he is strong and proud and completely able to stand on his own two feet, he may want to share that burden but hasn't found anyone worthy of that trust. Now Zeke has met his match and he's just perfect. I love the connection that they form and the chemistry that forms between them and the way these two go together. Zeke needed a strong mate to temper his ego just a bit and Pax needs someone that he can really trust. I really think that he needs his own knife so that he can stop taking his mates though. I really liked the job that the narrator does on this one and how he gives them all voices and their own personality.
