Publisher's Summary

The final novel of the Kilo-Five Trilogy by number-one New York Times best-selling author Karen Traviss - part of the expanded universe based on the award-winning video game series Halo!

It's 2553. With the 30-year-long Covenant War finally over, the Office of Naval Intelligence faces old grievances rising again to threaten Earth. Angry and bitter colonists - still wanting to settle scores from an insurrection put on hold for three decades - crave justice...as does a man whose life was torn apart by ONI when his young daughter was abducted for the SPARTAN-II program. Black-ops squad Kilo-Five now find its collective loyalty tested beyond the breaking point when the father of their Spartan comrade, still searching for the truth about her disappearance, prepares to glass Earth’s cities to get an answer.

How far will Kilo-Five go to stop him? And will he be able to live with the truth when he finds it?

The painful answer lies with someone long dead and a conscience that still survives in the most unlikely, undiscovered place....

Absolutely brilliant.

The Kilo-5 trilogy is the best of the best when it comes to Halo. The story is gripping, the characters are believable and enjoyable and Euan Morton brings it all together brilliantly. I wish that he would Narrate more books because 343's decision to use Scott Brick as their main narrator has utterly killed any of the books he narrated for me. Bring back Euan!

Halo is more than 117

A good end to the kilo five trilogy. Grew on the backstory of the Spartan II program without using Master chief as a character. Puts depth to some of these characters that are mentioned in passing in the games and comics. This book was a solid conclusion to the trilogy. the kilo five trilogy holds it’s own in the Hilo universe. Euan Morten does a wonderful job narrating the trilogy

Phenomenal

I dont normally wite reviews but I enjoyed this book too much not to. I loved the entire kilo five trilogy but this last book was amazing with what it did with the character arcs. It brings a lot of humanity to the world if halo. The narrator was amazing as well. He does a great job with all the accents and voices without being over the top like some narrators are. His impression of BB is by far my favorite but he really gives a lot of life to all the characters.

Amazing

This book covered the other side of the Spartan story that I think any true halo fan has always asked themselves about. What was it really like for the families of the Spartan II’s that were abducted and replaced by clones designed to die? And I believe that it was portrayed in the best and most authentic way it could’ve been by this book. This book and the Entire Kilo 5 trilogy are truly amazing and I would recommend them to any and all Halo fans even the more Casual ones.

epic

very deep and thought provocative, with humour and wit. the main theme was more around the concept of humanity and secrets.

Chilling.

If you’re a fan of the Halo series or not, I suggest reading this trilogy. It’s a fantastic introduction into the Halo universe and as far as Halo stories go (including the games) it’s probably the one that’ll hit you in the feels the most. I’ve played every game, read most of the books, and seen the films and this trilogy of books is the only one that made me actually go, “holy ****, that’s horrifying”.

10/10. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a good sci-fi/military thrill.

amazing end to a superb trilogy

an amazing end to a superb trilogy, and it has entered straight in as one of my favourite book series, and is beyond brilliant, it is a highlight of what happens when you mix the undeniable talents of karen traviss and halo, crisply read out by a voice that i get to hear more of in more books, really brought it to life,

loved every second the only bad bit about it, is that it ended, wanted it to go on and on, love kilo five and there adventures felt like i cared about them the whole way through

HaLsEy bAD!!

The Kilo Five trilogy can be summed up in two words “Halsey Bad”. The writer spends so much time throughout reminding us how bad and evil Catherine Halsey is, they forgot to write an actually interesting story. The final book itself is just one long reminder of how horrible she is, as the plot revolves around the scorned parent of a Spartan,

I find it amazing how somebody could write such a dull and uninteresting trilogy in the Halo Universe which has so much potential..

Would not recommend this book or the two preceding it to anybody.

Chills

Been working though the Halo books as so far this on had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, hairs raised on my arm and at some points, formed tears in my eyes. Such a different view of the Spartain 2's and what the parents of the children went though. Such a good book 10/10

Easily the best trilogy I've read in years

All the previous books in the trilogy up to this point, is exactly what you want in any story, if you're expecting to act a certain way to certain parts you know that's coming, you're unprepared for when they arrive. You're just enthralled, I've never felt such emotional attachment to all the characters in a whole book. There was not a single character in this trilogy that didn't leave a profound impression on me, their individuality was so profound, villains have their vulnerabilities, your heroes are not infallible, good do the bad, the bad do some good, two opposing forces find common ground on certain things and commiserate with one another, it's such a fantastic story. The voice acting I liked it throughout the books, can't find faults really except with the jackals really.

Amazing trilogy of books with characters you will fall in love with and hope to hear from again.

Narration of the story's next level.
