Publisher's summary

Magical Beasts is now in development for a major motion picture.

The war has begun, and the Evil One is attacking. Thus, Sam must find and convince the Summoner of KiraKu to call all dragons and magical creatures of the wild lands to join the battle.

To reach the Summoner, Sam will have to cross the most dangerous wild lands of KiraKu. Even if the Summoner can be found, KiraKu is facing multiple armies and villains greater than any in its history. Sam must do whatever it takes to win or watch all her friends die.

The final battle will test heroes and create legends - and it will still not be enough. Can the guardians fulfill the prophecy and unite KiraKu? In the last stand, can Sam find a way to defeat the Evil One and save KiraKu?

Guardian, the Stand is Book 4 of Magical Beasts, a fantasy thriller series with nonstop action, powerful heroines, quirky tough heroes, and a slew of not-so-friendly magical beasts.

Get the Paper Copy, needs a new Narrator

So, I listened to books 1 & 2... The story itself I don't think is bad, but it's getting more difficult to judge because listening to it got so hard. Maybe I have just been spoiled by amazing narrators and I really am not trying to be mean, but I highly recommend listening to the samples before you buy them. The narrator speaks VERY SLOOW-L-Y and is so monotone that it is simply kind of painful. I did find her to sound more normal paced if I listened around 1.7 to 2 times speed but I will admit that this is the first book I listened at 3.5 times speed to get me through it. Better yet, if you like the summaries then buy the hard copy and read it yourself.

As for the story, it's a fun and clean middle grade fantasy adventure. I can see it as an easy read level for that age group and I did like the storyline/plot. I don't think it will appeal to the adults due to the teenage romance and style of the writing in this series, to me it feels like a targeted grab to the older elementary to middle school reader.

Couldn't Connect with Characters

It just wasn’t for me. Perhaps because I jumped into Book 4, but I could not connect to any of the characters. I wanted to like the story more than I did.

Hard to listen

Just mho that the narrator can be better. She’s too monotonous and dull in the narration.
