Did not know how it was going to turn out to the very end. Descriptions were wonderful felt like you were in the story.

Marvelous imagination

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was intense and whimsical. A love story without endless hours of unrequited love.

Charming mix of mystery, fantasy, and historical romance!

This excellent novel kept me spellbound. I highly recommend it if you'd like a mix of cozy mystery, Regency romance, ghosts, and magical doorways. A happy ending is guaranteed. The romantic part of the plot is strong, but there is just kissing. The intriguing supernatural mystery kept me guessing and the tension just right. Marvelous writing and charming, likeable characters.

Loved this book!

Great characters with a very interesting plot. Historically speaking those days were very difficult for women especially those who were trying to run a business. I believe the author did a great job portraying
this. This is my first book I was author. I’m looking forward to more!

Lovely

slow at some parts but really enjoyable overall. The mystery was more than I expected and I love the paranormal aspect. The twists were interesting and I didn't expect the politics. overall a very lovely mystery.

Grimm origin story of sorts

Absolutely loved this story. It felt a lot like the authors take on the origin of the Grimm's tales. A beautiful romance. I did feel a dark rainy ambiance or like a foggy morning if that makes sense. I couldn't put it down though. I highly recommend if you're into romance minus spice combined with historical accuracy and fable.

Mystery, spookiness and romance.

What a fun read! A smart but struggling heroine, two charming men, a mute mother and rent is due. This accumulation of descriptors generally would not entice me to read. However, add in Victorian England, a shop full of curiosities - magical, odd, maybe dangerous and I am there. The delighted reviewers helped me decide. So glad I did. Such a charming story with a hint of scary spooky mystery and a maybe romance filled by Sunday. Delightful. BTW, I listened and read with interactive audio and ebook. The two narrators, Henrietta Meier & Joshua Akehurst, had just the right touch.

A great story beautifully performed

It’s got mystery, romance, twists and turns. I loved it. I read it in August but it would be a great Christmas read

I absolutely loved this story. I love a good adventure love story and this book is just that. I couldn't stop listening, and the readers were great.
