Adorable pet-based cozy mystery

Overworked and exhausted, former crime scene reporter Sam Hodges returns home for rest and recuperation among beloved friends and family. She soon finds herself working as the pets reporter for her pet-obsessed hometown's newspaper and must solve the mysterious death of a local greyhound rescue manager.

This story is absolutely adorable. I love Sam - she's honest, friendly, intelligent, and fun. I appreciate her relationships with her mother and sister. Call me biased (I'm an animal lover with two dogs) but the greyhounds and other animal characters add a lot to the story.

My main issue with the performance is with the editing. There's a few places where phrases / sentences are repeated. The audio quality also changes slightly from time to time.

Fun dog inspired story

This book was cute and fun to listen to. I wish the author would have given a little more background about Sam's previous life before returning home.Sam uses her experience as a crime writer to help solve a murder mystery. There are lots of twist and turns with a little doggy Yoga thrown in to the mix. I loved how dog obsessed the whole town is. The story felt like it needed a little more development and detail I found myself having to rewind because I got distracted but over all it was a good story to listen to. The narrator did a good job but the sound quality was very poor it sounded like it was recorded in a closet. I received this book for free for an honest review.

Cute Cozy Mystery

The idea of a pet reporter coming up on a murder was fun. It didn't seem too far fetched to begin with but bringing into the story the fact that she used to be a crime reporter was a great idea. It explains all her questions and snooping instead of making a character who is just sticking her nose into everyone's business. I had some problems with the narration messing up a few times but overall it was a good book and worth a listen. New series it's great.

What a fun concept a Pet Reporter! I really loved this first book in a new series. It was not to long and the story was really interesting. I enjoyed the narration by Lane Cannon, she has a very nice voice. I did notice that it repeated sentences a few times so the editing needs to be better but that is not anything to do with the Author or Narrator. I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Greyhound at the Gravesite

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

The characters, human and animal alike capture you almost immediately in this charming book about humans and their pets. Although there were some errors about greyhounds...I've been told that greyhounds do not get "rescued" they get "adopted" a friend of mine was actually insulted that the author used the wrong pretense (she owns 2 greyhounds).

After being fired and being ditched by her boyfriend Kyla moves back home but in order for her to get out of her parents home she needs a job & takes the only job available, Pet Reporter. Although it is below Kyla's status, she takes the job and is determined to become the best Pet Reporter she can be, unfortunately on her first assignment she finds a dead body and the adventure begins.

I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Happy Reading.

I love dogs

This was very good book. An ex crime reporter comes back home and visits her old job to see if there is a place for her;. She is given pet reporter. However, while going to interview a grey hound rescue she stumbles upon the owner dead. So now she just has t find out what happened. This book was quite funny and kept me guessing the murderer till the end. I hope there will be more in this series. I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Cozy Mystery!

Samantha has a breakdown on camera while working as a crime reporter in the big city. She returns to her family and hometown to start over. She is given a job with the local newspaper as a pet reporter. Sam goes to interview her first client and finds her dead, Is it natural causes or foul play?!! Sam must investigate as the police are doing nothing.

This was a great story with a surprise ending and interesting characters. The story was nicely read by the narrator but I gave it a 3 instead of a 5 because of the recording errors that need to be fixed. Otherwise, great book! Fun Cozy Mystery!

Kyla Colby wrote a fun cozy book. I loved the original storyline in this pets reporter mystery. Some of the characters are very endearing, I loved the unexpected twists this book had. I so enjoy it when I do not have the killer figured out. The imagery was great in this story too. I felt the narration by Lane Cannon fit the book. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.
