In 10 lectures, award-winning historian Patrick N. Allitt transports listeners to England in the 1840s and 1850s. During those two decades, Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, became one of the most influential people in the country and remains a figure of fascination even today. In fact, the British royal family as we know it wouldn't exist without the private and public actions of this detached, impartial, and upright political figure.

Professor Louis Moore’s audiobook about the history of African Americans in sports in the United States educates listeners about the fascinating social and cultural history of the nation. For example, integration of major league and professional sports broke a major color barrier for one of the first times in the early years of the Civil Rights Movement. African American athletes competed in America long before the 20th century - in fact, they even competed during the years of slavery.

Story
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

The stuff of conspiracy theories makes for great, entertaining stories in movies, books, and television. And there is no shortage of subjects: from who really killed JFK to the truth behind 9/11. And then, there are subjects from alien invasions to the Moon landing was simulated - theories that are truly out of this world, which according to some, is flat. Many of these crazy concepts have jumped off the pages or screens to become so pervasive in our culture that thousands - even millions - subscribe to them as reality.

Publisher's Summary
Greek Myths
This is a collection of fascinating facts, insights, and stories from Greek mythology. Some you may know well, as they have appeared in many different films and cartoons by the likes of Disney (Hercules) and Thunder Road Productions (Clash of the Titans) and others you would never have heard of before. Whether this is your first foray into Greek mythology or you are a seasoned history loving aficionado I am sure you will find something within this book that you can’t help but fall in love with. You will impress not only your family and friends but yourself too with what you will learn and to that end I say have a great time discovering more about the enthralling world of Greek mythology.
Egyptian Myths
This is a collection of fascinating facts, insights, and stories into the mystical and magical world of Egyptian mythology. From the Eye of Ra to mummification, you will no doubt find something juicy to sink your teeth into. Just be careful where you tread, the whole place is surrounded by booby traps set to go off should you stray from this book. Your only hope for salvation is waiting for you at the end but no short cuts may be taken lest you be cursed for all of eternity! Good luck.
Roman Myths
This is a collection of fascinating facts, insights, and stories into Roman mythology. Numerous Gods and tales of Roman mythology have their origins in Greek mythology; with slight adaptations in names, places, and the nitty gritty parts. For example, Hercules in Roman mythology is referred to as Heracles in Greek, so be sure to check out my other books, too.

A Good First Foray
The author's light-hearted tone remains consistent throughout this audiobook, making for a very easy listen. Many of the jokes are rather topical, and expired, but they don't distract from the overall book. The information presented is nothing ground-breaking, but this book never claims to be. I imagine the target audience is a young adult who may be vaguely familiar with these mythologies and would like to have a good time learning more about them. Overall, this was a very easy listen, an enjoyable experience, and would make a good first foray into these ancient mythologies.

reference books with pesonality
I love free books, as this was for me. It's not my usual pick for an audio book but I was curious. I think this would be a good reference book to listen to if you don't have any background in these myths. The narrator did a very good job, especially when reading the modern notes that the author thoughtfully included as relevant comparisons.

Myths you must know
This bundle of books gives listeners a quick and easy glimpse into these three different mythologies. It is a nice way to introduce the younger generation to the tales of old and the Gods and heroes that they worshiped. Based on many of the tidbits and jokes while the information is given it seems that these books are geared towards the younger generation. I enjoy mythology of any kind and while I knew much of the information in these books, they are an engaging listen. A good way to wet a youngster’s appetite and get them curious to find out more information. Narrator Jason Hunt does a good job of keeping the narrative flowing and lighthearted to keep a listener engaged and enjoying the information.

Interesting
I enjoyed this series. I loved all the little jokes and references peppered throughout the books. My only wish is that it would have been longer. To much time was spent introducing you to all the "characters" than on the myths themselves. More time was spent on detailing the myths would have made this a solid 5 stars.

'Fun facts' intro to mythology
This collection of books is written in a 'fun facts' format, which offers a bare bones introduction to mythology which is a great way of developing a new interest. This includes introductions to all of the heavy hitters in the various pantheons and some of their exploits, as well as their relationship to one another (a whole loada incest), it was interesting and informative. However, many of the facts include cringeworthy jokes added to engage the reader - some of these were fun in an oldschool off-colour joke kind of way, but some of the others were a little too outdated to be enjoyable (comparing the cow bodied goddess to the author's mother in law, and a menstrual joke comparing and Egyptian goddess to the author's partner), I loved the narrator's work, his voice perfectly complemented the scholarly aspect of the books and managed to pass off a lot of the bad jokes as funny through tone alone.

Tries too hard
The myths speak for themselves, so why interject banal humour in to the narrative. Talking about Egypt valley of the Kings - equated with Elvis - once or twice is OK, but they just keep coming. Well read but content is too interlaced with false comedy for me.

Lacks some coherence
I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review. Narration 9/10 The narration is ok. Due to the nature of the book can't really judge on any aspects of it, but it serves this Audiobook right. Story 7/10 Not really much to tell about the story, It's pretty much facts from Greek, Egyptian and Roman mythology. But the whole thing lacks coherence and it's mostly fact after fact like a top 50 list. In my opinion facts could have been much better presented. Contextual facts and characters should have been put together, and presented in small stories. Overall I'd suggest this to people who'd like to get a taste of mythology without spending a lot of time.

A delightful listen
I thoroughly enjoyed this 3 book box set of Greek, Egyptian and Roman Myths. They are a wonderful incite into each cultures mythology and the reveal the numerous ways they are linked and entwined. The narrator speaks clearly and delivers the content in the humorous way it is written, especially the many modern day references to the characters and also the exploits they got up to. Each book is a delightfully easy going introduction into what can be quite deep subjects so, they are a perfect way to whet your appetite, leaving you with the desire to research and read more into the many Gods, characters and their amazing adventures . I would love to see each book televised in a mini series. This audio book was requested by myself and provided free by the author The review I have given is voluntary and solely my opinion of this audiobook, which is completely independent and unbiased.
